Genesis Aiko vs Hitomi

I was just monkeying around today when I realized that I had all of the Genesis versions of Aiko and Hitomi. So I decided to put them side by side in pretty much the same outfit and see what they looked like in comparison with one another. So with the power of science... I went about the task of putting them side by side. For this render, they are all posed in the same fashion, wearing the same clothes, hair and skin. Even though Asobi is a variant of Hitomi, I felt it appropriate because the head shape is different sort of the way the shape of Aiko 4 now differs from Aiko 5. from left to right they are:

Asobi
Hitomi
Aiko 5
Aiko 4

I'm curious to know which one you prefer.

Poll removed. We don't permit them. The feature is suppose to be disabled but they haven't gotten to it

But it's good to see them all together in a row ;-)
I have only Aiko 4, but I always thought about buying Hitomi. Now I can see, that I should better buy Asobi or Aiko 5, because they're much more the type I like.

Out of genuine curiosity, is there a reason why polls are disallowed? Of all the things on the forum, it just seems like an oddball thing to ban.

On-topic, it's hard for me to choose. I see HItomi as being more cartoon anime style with Aiko (Aiko 5 at least) being a more realistic stylized character. Both have some fantastic morphs built off them (Lorella for Aiko 5 is a fave, as is Asobi for Hitomi) and both see plenty of use from me. To be asked to choose just one is like picking between iced or jammy doughnuts!

Aiko 4 also gets plenty of use from me, but only as a morph for Genesis since I can blend it with other figures to make some unique mixes. So, still a very tough question. Short answer is, I love them all!

Polls have never been allowed and the ones you do see are a very rare circumstance.

Well you have to get Hitomi because Asobi is a morph for Hitomi. Just FYI

If everyone was allowed to make polls, in every forum, on any subject, can you just imagine what a mess we would get with polls attached to each and any question, just because you could.

They were only allowed in the old forum under special circumstances, and the same applies in this one, see the DAZ 3D Froum TOS bullet point #19.

And with a limit of 12 options for each poll they are really not even a lot of use for things like voting threads etc.

If you'd like to run a poll you should contact the forum team and it can be reviewed

    I would rank them:
    1 - Asobi
    2 - A5
    3 - A4
    4 - Hitomi

But i would've loved to see A3 in this line-up as well to compare them all.

    I don't see her here, Aiko 3.

It gets even more nuts when you start mixing and matching.

    Left - Hitomi 50%, Aiko 5 50%, Asobi 100%

    Right - Aiko 3 100%

I don't have the A3 Shape for Genesis, but when I do I'll be sure to do the comparison again. I've been slowly collecting them but I just bought the Toon Amy, Jazlyn and Kimberly figures last week, so I'll have to get them next week or so.

Besides A3, another major omission here is Thorne's Satsuki, who has become my go-to anime style girl base... though Hitomi more than paid for herself just with the tooth smoothing morphs. There's also Taiga and Smay's Nata, whose proportions are a bit too extreme for my taste on their own, but both make nice mix-ins. But that's the great thing about Genesis: you can tweak and tweak to get exactly what you want.

As for A5, she may be my favorite of all the Gen 5 girls to date, but I consider her to be the direct line descendent of the A4 realistic moprhs. As such, I tend to mix her with morphs intended for V5, usually adding either Smay's Stalker GIrl or just the V5 supermodel to get her a little leggier.

Out of your lineup, I actually found I like Asobi best, which kind of surprised me-- I'd have thought Hitomi, before this. I have the A3 shape for Genesis, so I'll try a similar image in the morning (I'm supposed to be asleep right now). I may also turn each figure just slightly so they all face the camera at the same angle.

A5 doesn't do anything for me... but I never used Aiko Realistic, either. I think it's good to have such a wide variety, though. I just wish we had as much variety for the guys! ;)

for Genesis cute figures: ASOBI, she is perfect for mix cute girls.
    for Legacy: Aiko3

still trying to get along with A5, she is great but...dunno, she needs some sort of....aaah!!!

Depending on the image style I may prefer a different base character over the others.

For example Aiko 5 is very much my "go to girl" when it comes to realistic characters nowadays. I simply don't see Aiko 5 as a toon oriented character.

In the case of toon images, I am usually using Asobi or Jasmin as base. The first for a more eastern, the latter for a more western look. While Aiko 3 is really almost the only one for me of the legacy characters, I am not using the Aiko 3 shape of Genesis much. Aiko 4 is a character I never got really used to, neither as legacy character nor as Genesis shape.

I'd like something like a Cookie character for Genesis, but not sure if that works out at some point and she doesn't really fit the line-up ;)

Very true!, WE NEED A COOKIE GENESIS MORPH!!
    if there's a Mavka...why not a Cookie? :-/

Out of those choices it would be:
    1. Aiko 5
    2. Asobi
    3. Aiko 4
    4. Hitomi

I like Aiko 3. I would've put her between Asobi and Aiko 4. I chose them like this simply because I like slightly toony characters. Out of the list, I have A5 and Hitomi (and Aiko 3). Asobi is still on my wishlist and I don't really feel I need A4, because I could possibly remake her with the Aikos I have. She seems unnecessary.

Cookie is a 3rd party figure which is not sold at DAZ 3D. Only the "Owner" would be able to do anything like this, and even then it would need to be sold here, even if the original figure wasn't. . Smay was able to do Mavka because he is also a PA here.

Er... isn't Cookie sold at RDNA by Littlefox, who sells as a PA here as Lady Littlefox?

Yup, but she would be the one would have to do it, and agree to sell it here, otherwise it couldn't be done, is what I am trying (rather badly) to say.

I don't understand why a morph package (which is really what a character for Genesis is) has to be sold at the DAZ3D store. There are plenty of Genesis morph packages sold at other well-known content stores.

What chohole is trying to say is that the only one that can legally make a Genesis morph of Cookie would be Cookie's creator LLF. Sure someone else could make the morph but they better have LLF's permission to do so.

I get that LLF would have to make the Cookie for Genesis morphs. But she also made the claim that it had to be sold at DAZ3D. And that's the part I don't get. Sure, it might sell better here, since people probably look to this webstore first for Genesis content. But there's nothing to prevent LLF creating Cookie for Genesis and selling it at RDNA where the rest of the Cookie stuff is.

She doesn't have to, but of course being a Daz admin, Cho is going to pimp the Daz store. :P LF could sell it at RDNA/Rendo or wherever just as easily should she choose.
