Yep, you should get nice results with those
Thanks. It may be just me but I've noticed an improvement is the quality of renders so I thought I would double check if there was anything I could do to tweak them.
Thanks.
Edit to add: Improvement from 4.5 to 4.6 that is....
I might use higher raytrace depth on a render with lots of water or reflectivity. I'm willing to be corrected on that point, though.
It depends on objects, that would work fine for water and basic reflections, but a glass with 4 sides (two outer two inner) would need higher. I adjust mine depending on items used 8 or 16 sometimes.
It's mostly fine. Cut down the Pixel Samples X and Y from 20 (!) to 4. 20 is good if you do Depth of Field renders, but it will slow down and make unnecessary computations for any other render. Although usually 12 is enough even for DoF.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
@Sickle/Jaderale - Thanks for the tip!!
@ReDave - Oops. I turned it up a few weeks ago for a tutorial but forgot to turn it back down.
@Scorpio - Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that thread.
Max Ray Trace Depth works for reflection like this 0 no reflections, 1 one reflection, 2 two reflections like a reflection of a reflection and so on.
0 will give you Ray Traced shadows but if you are wanting light to penatrate a surface that has ray traced functions like Refraction then Jaderail is on the right track. You really only need to match the Max Ray Trace Depth number to the amount of surfaces the light has to pass through. So we know for Ray Tarced shadows 0 is fine but if you have 4 surfaces of an empty glass then a value of 4 will be good for the Max Ray Trace depth. Increasing this number will increase renders times so keeping it down is a good idea and should be adjusted for each scene.
Nobody has mentioned gamma. According to the change logs a lot was done on that score including color range. I've turned the switch on and fiddled with the slider and swear the pics are more vibrant. It seems people are ignoring it.
Yeah 2.2 Gamma and others have noticed as i was told this a last week by a fellow Dreamlight member. I always thought Gamma correction was done automatically given the nature of Daz Studio but I wrongly assumed so I didn't give it much thought.
