I want to know does Mimic Pro 3 come with DAZ Studio 4.5 and how do I install it if it does. Thanks. Oh--and how do I use it with Poser 8 figures.

Have a look at the last post in this thread : http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/23086/

There is a LipSynch available in the 32 bit version of DS4.x only

Hi JimmyC thank you for replying. so JimmyC do I actually need mimic pro 3 to make the figures talk? and how would I use the LipSynch in 4.5 for Poser 8 figures if that's possible.

I just downloaded and installed the 32 bit version of DS 4.6.0.18, and tried the Lip Sync pane to see how it works.

I used the base Genesis figure, loaded a file using the 'Load' button, and applied that to Genesis by pressing the 'Analyze' button, and then 'Open Timeline'. When I use the play option on the timeline, Genesis speaks the words, and the lips and face move accordingly. It was surprisingly easy to do, and only took a couple of minutes.

I have Poser 8, but not any later version, so I could try it for you. I think the Poser figures work reasonably well inside DS, but it has been a while since I tried. Which figure were you thinking of using? This plugin will only work inside DS4.6, and not in Poser.

I also have Mimic Pro, but it is very old by now, and I don;t think it will work properly with Lip Sync.

I haven't tried to use the Lip Sync with the Genesis figure yet, I just tried with Poser 8's James figure to see if it would work. It tells me I need to find and launch mimic pro 3

DAZ 3D characters, and some 3D Universe characters, come complete with a '.DMC' file, which is a Mimic Configuration File, and Mimic needs that to move the lips and face correctly. I don't know if there are any files available for James or other Poser characters, but you can make them yourself using Mimic Pro I believe.

I have Mimic Pro, and it says at the top 'DAZ Mimic 3 Pro for Poser', and I think it works with Poser up to at least version 7, and maybe 8 as well.

I found some Help files when I was using Mimic today, and they describe how to set up Poser figures. If you want to use Poser figure with Lip Sync, you have to load the appropraite CR2 file, with the Visemes morphs I think.

So, are you saying that when I go to use the Lip Sync feature, instead of putting in a DMC file for DAZ configuration, to instead load a Poser viseme for which ever figure I'm using from Poser 8? If so then, will Daz be able to read the Viseme configuration file from Poser 8 or not?? I ask because I don't want to put in a Poser Viseme for say, the James figure, and his lips still don't move.

I have no idea at all of how to use Mimic with anything other than Genesis, and the first time I ever did that was a few hours ago.

http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/software/mimic/start This is a link to the Mimic Help page

http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/tutorials/mimic/tutorials This is the tuts link, but I don;t think any images will display.

I don't think that Mimic can read the Poser config files for speech (or vice versa). I thought Poser 8 had it's own talk designer?

Can you be a bit more specific about what you want to do, what character you want to use, and how you want to do the animation (DS or Poser), then someone may be able to help a lot more?
