Are there any free head morph resource kits available?

I'm fairly new to 3d and I'm not entirely sure if Daz Studio is a better than others for making custom faces. So I don't wanna spend a lot of money on a bunch of head morph products to find that I have no clue what I am doing and I should have bought a readymade character instead.

What is your 3D goal and we can advise you better after knowing that.

  • It would also help to know which figure you're using. What I generally recommend is this set of 182 head and body morphs originally made for Victoria 4, which has since been converted for the original Genesis, Genesis 2 Female and Male, and Genesis 8 Female (I haven't found it for either of the Genesis 3s, or for Genesis 8 Male).

I am newbie and want to develop 3d games. So after developing basic story, character developing seemed appropriate to me (atleast one main protagnist because although if I change all my story it would still have that). I have been watching tutorials and stuff but couldn't find a very good one about developing faces in hexagon. And I am not against learning it by myself but I have to be sure that it'd be worth it.

I think I'll use genesis2 Female for my character, so do I have to use a morph kit? If yes, then which would you suggest.

I am using Genesis 2 female. I have made couple of basic stuff you'd use in a scene in hexagon, so should I also sculpt faces also in hexagon.

Also there are these four morph kits :

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-head-morph-resource-kit-1

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-head-morph-resource-kit-2

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-head-morph-resource-kit-3

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-head-morph-resource-kit-4

So are they all different and one would buy only one or all of them.

Those products won't really help you as they are for the original Genesis figure. Since you mentioned that you're working with Genesis 2, you'll want to look for morphs for that figure instead. I'm not aware if Handspan Studios has resources like the ones you've picked out for Genesis. No, wait. She has one for G2F. Here's the link:

But, I recommend using this one: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-2-female-morphs-bundle, and it's one that I have used to create custom characters in the past. (Not that I've made any for sale, mind you. My characters aren't as market worthy as my props and poses, if I'm being honest.)

It's actually not that difficult to make your own custom morphs in Hexagon and then import them into DS via MLP (Morph Loader Pro - the flexing bicep icon with the "P" in the muscle.) Save them as a morph asset (from the file/save drop down menu.) But only go this route if you feel comfortable enough to move the polygons where you want/need them. Otherwise, I'd start with the Genesis 2 Female Morphs Bundle to get you running.
