I see many wonderful renders, too many to react on each of them, for now. Keep up the good work.

Myself, I'm struggling with modeling a part for an entry. I started over several times in both Hexagon and Wings, but do not get it to work as I wanted. I get halfway and then fail. For Hexagon, it is usually the software itself that starts to decide to crash endlessly, while Wings makes very strangs things when subdividing.

Nevertheless, perhaps it will work out. It should be a stone stairs that are worn out, winder at the bottom than at the top and have some additional elements on them. Too complicated for my very limited modelling skills, it appears.

I do want to react on the WIP by Electro-Elvis. Almost there, I would say! Wonderful atmosphere. I would give the candle a candleholder, though. This is very unstable and you don't want the candle to fall over and burn the place and the lady!

@Hansmar: Thank you. A candleholder would do it. But then I guess I will face the same problem as you, because I want to modell it in Hexagon or Wings3D :-) (Other software beasts that want to be tamed)

Maybe you could model your stone stair in Bryce with the "New Primitives" S Ray offered here in this forum on January 30?. They have cubes with champfered/rounded edges.

    @Jamahoney/Yellow Pen

The helmet was modeled in Hexagon for Mike 4 (its loosely based on the Sutton Hoo helmet). Thought I uploaded it to Sharecg, but I didn't. But if somebody can use it i can upload it.

And thanks for all the kind remarks_``~...

Electro-Elvis - though I see that a candle holder is somehow missing. On the other hand, the lady looks so sad and appears to seek some comfort from the candle light. She wasn't in the mood to search the household for a candle holder, just wanted to have a candle now. Not perfect but emphasising the lady's mood; for me, it fits perfectly the way it is.

What a great theme and such wonderfully  imagenative interpretations.

    Here’s  my entry:

“An Overdue Book - The Librarians”

Don’t want to mess around with these  librarians…

    Click for full size image.

    Content used:

    Genesis 2 M/F, texture size reduced by 75% (4096 to 1024).

    Victorian  gown by SHIFTING IMAGES.

    Sir Worthington outfits by esha.

Edwardian hair by gold tassel (F).

Mica hair by AprilYSH (left M).

Kaylum Hair by 3DCelebrity (right M).

    candles by ARTCollab.

Open book by Animated Heaven (ShareCG).

Everything else was modeled in Modo, mostly textured with images from the CG Textures site.

Illuminated by 7 ranged gradient Dome lights centered on and sized to each of the “flames”.

Randered with Normal AA, about 3 hours 45 minutes.

    Thanks for looking!

    Dan - that's a superb indoor scene.

ed3D - cool idea. Is the lady the dinner? devil

  • @ Henryhor: Camelot is a wonderful still life. The helmet looks great in this light.

@ Fishtales: Funny idea. But here I do not think I can talk about the speed of light ;-)

@ Electro-Elvis: A wonderful WIP. She looks so sad. The light is wonderful. A candlestick would still be the last piece that completes this picture.

@ Dan Whiteside: Very nice lit scene. Good work.

@ ed3D: funny idea. The title is great. ;-)

Ah, what a pity. I need just a few months more to get my next entry ready crying

So, please consider my 'possible' second entry as a real entry.
