What is the best way to save characters?

I am working on creating characters and costumes that I will be using a lot. What is the best way to save the character, costumes, materials, ect just all as one item so I can dress and go? I've tried saving as actors, wearable presets, ect and have had issues with clothing items not showing up or not saving the materials I had on it. Suggestions?

Save as Scene Subset then you can Merge that into any other scene you like.

yep, Scene Subset can be suitable for clothes and character.

but when cloth are not a signature for the figure, focusing in the character like a priority, I save, for example.

Save Character Preset, all, morphs and material
Save Material, because sometimes a great material set can be used on another character.
Save Pose, partially the face or head settings, for me it's important save the same gesture that character was created initially, better if you have created face gestures totally fitted for that character.

Scene subsets are great no matter the content. Character presets save the shape with the skin, shaping presets - the shape only. Material presets for the textures.

For saving content used on characters (wardrobe, accessories, props that parent), it is very useful to save outfit (e.g. a full pirate outfit, items combined from different products, etc.) as a wearable. This allows one to quickly load the outfit onto different characters. It can speed up the workflow particularly if using Autofit (e.g. V4-to-Genesis).
