Hairblending Classic Bob Hair Gn3F an Gn8F OOT?

I have a question for OOT's hairblending system. How does it work? I use this hair, choose a base color and then under the tab surfaces I choose the ON button, the strength,style and color. After rendering I saw only the base color. How do I use the hairblending? Perhaps somebody can help step by step? There is no description how to use.
