Does the Weapons Collection for Genesis 3 and 8 Males -- https://www.daz3d.com/weapon-collection-for-genesis-3-and-8-male-s

 -- include smart-prop poses for the hands? And, if so, both right and left hands?

    Yes, the weapons load into the hands of Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 Males. I'm not able to ascertain if they included right and left hand presets, as I don't own the set myself. It's standard procedure any more that when you have a hand held prop, like in this case a sword, that it load onto the figure in place with an  included hand grip. (Any time you see "Wearable Preset" in a prop set, you're pretty much guaranteed that the option to load the prop onto your figure is included.) It's not required that the PA include presets for both right and left hand options of holding the prop. That's pretty much up to the discretion of the content creator.

    I know that this doesn't answer all of your question, but I hope it at least helps you out a little bit.
