About this Thread
-
This Thread was started by myself, after a meeting with xenopticon. Mind you we are two old men who remember the days of the computer clubs were you went to share ideas; get help with the sticky bits; or just to get out of the basement, garage, or cave to interface with other people doing the same thing and talk face to face, do a show and tell, gripe about why someone should fixed that fraking problem.
-
At the end or our meeting we agreed, we should meet again and extend an invitation to other DAZ 3D software users in the Seattle Area, to join us as we talk about DAZ Studio, Hexagon, Carrara, Content, and generally gabbed, over tea and cakes. The discussion has since Grown to encompass the Greater Pacific Northwest.
-
You don't have to be from Seattle to Join in the Discussion.
-
The Core idea of the thread is to extend the gab session past the hour or three we spend face to face every month and to post our Meeting Times and places. Suggestions for both open do suggestion.

Hello Again Seattle and the Pacific NW DAZ Users.

Sorry about my long dry spell, but things have been happening in my life and some of those push this to the bottom of the Stack.

    On my to do list:
Get Winter Render winner's their prizes.
-----(I haven't forgotten them, but I bought the Cheep Art Critic Mukeys and they still haven't chosen)
    Help xenopticon move
Buy a gift for my new grandson (I promise I will not post Cute Baby pictures)
See if we want to go back to Uptown Espresso or find some place new?
Seeing xenopticon has moved to the East side, see if there are any Kirkland/Redmond folks that want to meet up on that side of the lake.
Find out how Kyoto Kid is doing trying build a Portland Group
Find out if the LA Group is working out
See if anyone else has started a Group around the world

Oh and did I mention I write and I've got this wacko idea for a 9 book series.
-----Yeah okay I know it is insane, but I just can seem to stop writing
Choose a new topic for the next Seattle Contest and (I promise to replace these Cheep Art Critic Munkeys)

    So there is the list.
    Comments welcome.

    ...just saw this.

Unfortunately lost my job just over a year ago and having difficulty securing steady employment (the job market here is very flat and being older with worsening arthritis doesn't help the situation). Hence, the last year been pretty rough with RL issues have commanding most, if not all of my attention over 3D/Daz ones. Did mange to get a new 64 bit workstation built just before I was laid off so I at least have a system capable of handling quit a bit of what I can throw at it, however it has not seen as much use as I had hoped due to "other distractions" like keeping a roof over my head.

Consequently, couldn't make it back to the last two Norwescons. Also totally missed MM this year (spent 0.00$!).

Wish I had better news to convey.

It is good to hear from you, I hope things turn around for you shortly.
I understand the issue, had a few issues myself and had to take a reduction in hours due to them.

As you can see there has been a HUGE amount of activity, and I have been waiting for people to respond before planning anything.

Also I have to at some point send people their gift cards for for the last contest and that all happened about the same time as the site was updated and I lost names and addresses. (And the renders as well).

I have been working on Metadata, Been correcting and making a bunch of it.

Lets hope we both have a better year going forward.

    Haslor
