how do i use matchmoving camera data in daz studio 4.6?

I recently purchased and have generated matchmoving data using viscodas voocat. I am able to export out of voocat in a number of different file formats eg collada or text files and various other types. for this exercise I have exported out of voocat using the collada file format and it seems to import fine into daz. I see a point cloud in daz and even a camera is generated automatically and daz seems to recognize the data just fine. but I cannot get the camera to move/talk to the point cloud in order to move the camera
any ideas?
cheers

You might want to check out this thread.
hi gedd
thanks for the reference. its a long thread and there seems to be a lot of confusion as to what people want and are talking about. I am not entirely convinced they are all talking about the same thing. all that daz studio needs is an import menu option titled IMPORT CAMERA TRACKING DATA and then a pop up appears asking you what format of camera tracking data it is you wan to import. then, once imported the daz camera simply follows the movement of the camera tracking data.
there is a lot of talk about "support" for octane and after effects. octane and after effects have nothing to do with camera tracking per se. after effects is simply used afterwards to composite the RENDERED image sequence of the 3D scene which was generated from the camera tracking data to begin with. and octane is just a rendering plugin. it will simply render whatever the camera does. they both have nothing to do with camera tracking.
I really was at a loss as to what people wanted or were talking about in that thread. there was some overlap with what I am talking about but the thread is rather garbled and confused I think.

Well that was why I thought you might want to weigh in on the discussion. Since you have some specific concepts of how you would like to work with this and have spent the time trying to work around the issues you would have some good insights that could help any future development. It could be a win-win situation. Just ignore the garble and state what you would like to see. Most of that is because the many of the people (like me) were coming from a theoretical perspective rather then as hands on as you have been :)
ok fair enough. I will just repost on that thread.
Good luck.... :)
FBX and Collada should support Camera information. I'm not sure how either of them handles point cloud information, though. I don't think DAZ Studio handles at all point clouds, per se (other than in rendering, but that isn't handled by DS).
Is it possible to see an excerpt of that txt file? Header and footer and just a few of the camera positions as example?

right, I forgot I was still on after effects cs4 :)
HI :D
Thank you for helping to clear up some of the confusions linvanchene ;)
I posted the `other` thread go guage interest levels in getting tracking data in to Daz Studio and (not being a master at any of this) was also looking for other users points of view and opinions. How it could be done and what methods are down to the `possible` Dev in question..
Its been a while since we spoke on the subject (he also has an ongoing project that needs his time more importantly right now) so only time will tell if it happens at all I guess. Personally, I dont mind how its done. The issue with what method is used, what can and can not be imported is to be tackled by the Dev as it is beyond my abilities :P
Should he kindly begin this project then all I would like is what others want, tracking data in Daz studio. Its that simple, as linvanchene pointed out there are great benefits to being able to render a Daz scene with the Ocatne Render plugin :D
But, this is just PART of the whole apple! Sadly, the thread is a little all over the place mainly due to varied opinions on what should be incorperated and how it could/should be done. Of course everyone wants `their` app of choice to be supported, Keeping it simple IS the key and the Dev seems to think its a project that he can handle with out making things too complicated.
He has been a little snowed under lately and I have tried not to bug him out of respect, I am highly excited about the idea but also know that good things come to those who wait.. Some times :)
