DIM question:

I have two systems I use. One is a desktop that's always connected with a copy of Studio 64bit installed. System two is a laptop that I wanted to start using Studio 32bit on due to so many crashes I'm having on the desktop. I noticed that the desktop started downloading all of my content for a second time after adding DIM to the laptop. The laptop is using the 32bit Studio and the desktop is using 64bit Studio. I'm assuming that the DIM setting on each system will use the last setting from which ever system I'm using!

    My guess is that the DIM will just use the settings you have given it for each machine, regardless of the settings on the other machine, seeing as each instance of DIM has its own settings.

    Thank you! I'm going no try opening the desktop DIM and look to see if it has the old settings before adding DIM to the laptop!

    Do you happen to know why the 32bit system is asking me for a serial number for Decimator? I thought this came in the latest ver on Studio!

    You have to pay for Decimator separately, although the files are included with DAZ Studio. When you have paid for it you will get a serial number to unlock it.

    I have neither Decimator nor two machines, so someone else may have a more informed reply!

    I don't get it at all. I purchased the Pro version from the beginning of Pro beginning offered!!!

    The plugin was included, however it still requires a separate purchase to be activated. I'm not sure why it's actually included, but I can tell you that Decimator isn't fully owned by Daz 3D which is why they aren't able to offer it along with the software. It's also why Decimator is exempt from sales.

    I tried a reinstall but that didn't work it's still including Decimator. Since I don't have a serial number I guess I'll need to buy it?!?!

    If you bought DS4Pro before it was free, the DS4 serial will activate Decimator. The free serial will not, due to contractual arrangements with the creator of Decimator.

    I guess I'll need to try all Studio Serial Numbers and see if one of them activate it?

    Got It!!!!! It was activated using the first serial number when I purchased Studio 4 Pro!!!!
