Cannot change Aldora hair color with presets?

I'm new to DAZ & am using the Aldora hair style on a character. Whenever I try to change the hair color with one of the preset colors, nothing happens. I don't get any error messages, it just stays the same color that it originally was. I always make sure I have the hair selected, so that isn't the problem. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I just tried to change the color of some clothing, also with a preset, & it didn't work either.

    When you say you "try to change the hair color with one of the preset colors" what do you actually do, I mean in terms of mouse clicks and selections? I think the devil may be in the detail.

    Open the scene tab and just check you do have it selected, as it works fine for me.

    HI

    Make sure that you have the item you want to change,. selected in the scene.

    you can see what item is selected, in the scene panel on the right.
    .
    then double click on the thumbnail image to change the colours

    Thanks for your help everyone! I was clicking & dragging the color onto the hair/clothes, & I guess that doesn't work because when I tried double-clicking, it worked great.
