There ae the NYC precinct substations that look like White Castles.

Or these old ones from Chicago are probably much more typical for old urban areas:

Also that site has pictures of old fire substations there. Those are the style I remember as a boy in downtown Chicago.

The one in my current  town of 11,000 people is nothing more than a 1 story square building that looks like a re-purposed outlet shops/flea market style tin shack. 1/2 their patrol cars are kept across the street next to an old time grocery bought by the Sav-a-Lot chain.

The police station would be good .. but the textures just seem too .. cartoon-like.  

I guess, I am just hopeful that Stonemason will make one. :) :)

I don't have these sets, but looking at the propo renders, I'm guessing they look cartoonish because they're too clean. Perhaps some dirt/grunge shaders will make them look more realistic?
