you could try exporting an obj of the props lined up and reimport it

Dude, that worked perfectly!! Thank you!! :)

Now I just gotta figure out how to switch off the beam as despite the Daz site showing it switch off, I see no options to do so!

I can't seem to find it!

I don't think I have ever had anything go smoothly with Daz!

    Edit: Got it!!!

Man i'd be screwed without these forums! Thanks again dude!

Mods, please feel free to delete this tread.

The problem with exporting and then re-importing is that you can sometimes lose shader information by doing so. If you want my recommendation for how to 'stick' items together, then why not simply group them? Parent one to the other and using 'Parent in place' so it doesn't move. Then you can simply move the parent (which should be the handle in this case) to move both of them as one object.

The benefit to this is that it retains the Daz shader information, and all of the material presets will function fine on the individual parts.

I was thinking of parenting them but I find that doesn't always hold the object where it should be.

but i will definitely give it a go as its good to have some options!

    Thanks lads!

It depends where you parent them. If the staves have 'bones', find the bone closest to the area you want to parent to, and parent to that one. For instance, parenting glasses to Genesis' root won't do squat, but if you parent to the head specifically then it'll follow.

Also, for the 'inactive mode', it could be either a material preset, or a morph, as opposed to just making it transparent in the surface tab.

Well it looks like I have complete flexability using Wendy's suggestion above. It imports back in with all the same things but just joined up...which is sweet!! :)
