    What OS? On Windows, close DS and go to Start > All Programs > DAZ 3D > DAZ Content Management Service > Start DAZ Content Management Service. When the window closes restart DS and see if that fixed it.

    Do you use the default directory structure paths or your own?
    Studio won't show Smart Content if it can't find the Metadata files.

    You can try and check if the target directories are properly set up:

    "Edit", "Preferences", "Content Library", "Content Directory Manager";
    under "Content Sets" "DAZ Studio Formats" etc. the path must lead to the directory (or directories) you install your content to.

    If it is, try to reimport the MetaData under the Content Library tab. Click on the "Display Pane Options" icon, choose "Content DB Maintenance", tag "Re-Import Metadata" and hit Accept.

    If all is properly set and the Content Management Service is running your Smart Content should show up.

    I use the default directory structure. and the paths lead to the My Library folder for all DS4 items and content for the DS3 items
    What I don't understand is that it was working perfectly in 4.5 before I installed 4.6
    I have tried both of those and I still don't have anything showing in the Smart Content.
    What folder should the metadata be in?

    The Metadata files should be in "./Runtime/Support".
    Maybe your problem is based on the security settings of Win7. I had a lot of problems for myself with programs resident on the C:/ drive. Without Admin Rights some tend to not be allowed to write/alter files to that drive.

    I hadn't much problems with DAZ, I guess it's because my content (including the Content Management Services database) is resident on my D:/ drive. I have my Main or System HD reserved for the OS, swapfile and really necessary programs only.

    To be sure that there isn't a problem with the Content Manager, you could try to check if it's really running (I read somewhere that this isn't necessarily the case everytime when DS has been installed):
    Hit "Stg+Alt+Enter" and open the Windows Task Manager. Switch to the "Services" tab and look for the "DAZContentManagementService". If it says that it is running, a defunct CMS isn't your problem then.

    If it isn't, you can click on the "Services" icon at the bottom right, locate the "DAZContentManagementService" entry and doubleclick on it.
    If the "Starting Type" is anything but "Automatic" you may want to change it to that. That makes sure the service is launched anytime you boot your PC.
