Question about Genesis and Mesh Smoothing (RESOLVED)

I thought I'd asked this question before, but I can't find it in my history, so I'll assume that I didn't.

Every time I pose some part of Genesis's body (it doesn't matter which part, 'cause the effect is always the same), Genesis's glutes, thighs, and calves deform; and when posing is complete, the mesh pops back into place again. No other part of the mesh deforms likes this; it happens every single time; and it's really annoying.

At first I thought it was an issue of mesh smoothing, but the Parameters tab doesn't show Mesh Smoothing enabled.

(BTW, this is DAZ Studio Pro BETA 4.6.0.15 using the basic Genesis v1.11 with no other morphs or figure tools applied. This has been going on for the last several versions of DS and on two different machines.)

Anyone know what's causing this and how to make it stop, please? Thanks...

Turn Sub-D off and this will go away. Just make sure you turn it back on when rendering. It is under Mesh Resolution in the Parameters pane

Thank you, but no -- that didn't affect it at all.

These are my default properties under Mesh Resolution in the Parameters tab, and changing any of these has no effect on the issue I'm describing. I've tried turning SubDivision down to 0; I've changed the algorithm -- I've tinkered with all of these settings, and none of them appear to do squat as far as this issue is concerned.

No, thank you -- I'd rather have someone suggest something and have it turn out to be something I'd already tried, than not have them suggest it and end up missing a potential solution. I just wish I knew what the hell was causing this and how to make it stop -- it's not a huge issue, but it's one of those really annoying ones that just pick away at you, y'know?

Go to the Tool Settings pane and in the During manipulation block change the settings for Sub Division (and perhaps Skin Binding, but I think SubD is the cause).

Got it -- thank you. SubDivision was already set to Delayed (Off), but changing Skin Binding from Optimized to Full fixed the problem. I can still see a little bit of mesh smoothing going on during posing, but it's a insignificant fraction compared to what it was. Aw, man, finally...

Oh, good -- then it wasn't just me. Sometimes it feels a little like I'm the only one who gets to experience all the really weird bugs and glitches. God knows I've learned more than a few things following along with other people's issues, so I guess it's only fair that others should learn from mine...

    LOL
My PC is on its last legs so I get all sorts of issues like this and I have been trying to figure this one out for myself for a while now.
