SOLVED--Problem with outfit smoothing on Genesis

Just when I almost figured out how to rig to V4, I decided to make something for Genesis. I used transfer utility, etc, etc, everything looked great, i checked allow smoothing. Everything worked fine.
But when I reload the saved clothing file onto Genesis, I get the weird pulling of vertices that you see in the picture below. After some experimentation, it appears to be related to smoothing. If I turn smoothing off, everything is fine. Or if I use generic smoothing instead of base shape matching, everything is fine. Or if I turn smoothing iterations down to zero, but I assume that is the same as turning smoothing off.
Is there some way to fix this? Thanks for any help you may offer.

Usually that specific artifact happens because your base geometry (which is cute, by the way, I like it) is clipping with the body (dipping under the surface of Genesis) and can't "get away" because it also collides with itself. I'm guessing it's the laces in areas where they aren't supposed to be visible that are the problem?
You're awesome, that was exactly it, I had some stray edges and loose verts right in the problem areas. Once I cleaned that up, it works great.
Just gotta make some promo pics, zip it all up, and a new freebie will be on its way. Soooooooon...ish.

Great, I'm glad we were able to fix it. :-)
