How do you add text to a surface?

I created a primitive cube 2m tall. I altered the z scale to .125.
Now I want to put text on this 'sign board'.
How do I do it?

My end result will hopefully be a plaque prop that I can turn into a duf, so that when its thumbnail image is shown in my Content Library, the text will be legible.

It's going to say "This item is found in the Poser Library".

I desperately need something so that when I find a dress that has DAZ textures but a Poser mesh, I don't waste thousands of hours trying to figure out the mistake I made, or did I even purchase the item, instead of looking for it in the right place to begin with.
Take your time, pull yourself together, pick yourself off the floor, straighten your chair, and quit laughing...
For me, this is a serious issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying that, but I can't get the text to center.
A texture is just a png or a jpg right?
I just make a 512 square image and add text and center it, correct?

Instead of a cube, use a primative plane. Make the plane 1m and then size as needed in DS. It will be much easier to deal with.

Ok thanks, I'll give that a whirl.

    That worked Beautifully, Thanks!

Now, how should I save it so that it will show as a thumbnail in the catalog?
I thought it would be just a prop, but that's not turning out right.

I'd like it to look like the instructions in this window.

Why not just create a .png file in PhotoShop or Gimp that has that text... Sized 91 by 91. and then create an empty file of filetype .duf

Name the .png and .duf files the same and put them in the folder....

Here's a .png file sized 91x91 pixels that I named !InPoserLib.png that you can use if you want.

Well, that's the next question then, how do I make an empty .duf?
Can I just use a text editor and save a blank file as "file.duf"?
I thought, but just because I really don't know, that they were in some way linked.

Yes, but the filename of the .duf file is the same as the filename as the .png file

    Cool, that works great.
    Thanks for the tips.
I think I was onto something with the textured primitive and all, but this does the job I need..
Now I just have to locate all those catalog pages that should have links to the correct library. and copy and paste the next three days away. ;-)

Well, I did some experimenting along these lines and I was able to take the png file I used above and changed the type from a .png to a .dsf and I was able to create the exact same effect, but without the .duf..

So instead of copying and pasting 2 files per location, I now only have to do a single file to achieve the same results.
I thought I'd pass that on.

Skip that part, I forgot to remove the other png and when I did, the dsf went dark. So you still need both, I guess.
    But, hey...
This is [still] cool, because I can now leave all kinds of little notes to myself in strategic locations, to help me remember stuff.

    Thanks for the input, everyone!
