Photo realistic Skin

Please don't get me wrong, all the DAZ work great, however, I get a lot of "complaints" "suggestions" "flak" when I place a render in with a photo..in that I can't seem to get the "puppet " out of the figure. I pretty good with Photoshop and have added and edited layers, inner layers, out, etch, smoother filters, edgy filters, you name it, but nothing compares with even a bad photo. Am I just not getting it? Should I be learning about the SHADERS? and if so, any suggestions which ones?

I've even tried layering real hpto skin onto the DAZ skin. Took forever, but still didn't work

ANY SUGGESTS are greatly appreciated

Thanks

Photorealism is dependent on a lot of things. You need accurate lighting, good textures, specular, bumps, and maybe even displacements. There certainly isn't an easy solution to getting everything to look 'real'. You really need to know as much as possible about the different settings of your shaders, and what they can or can't do. It's certainly possible to get very photorealistic images, but how you go about it will vary depending on your choice of render engine, and scene.

I'm arguably one of the worst people to tell you how to create photorealistic results. It's a goal of mine which I've been unable to reach, though I do have a few images on my DA which could arguably come close. If I ever get the perfect portrait I'll be sure to share my settings, but until then I'll keep experimenting.

Examples of your work would give us a decent indication of where you're at though, so we can guide you to getting better results.
