Finer Articulation Query

It has somehow escaped me. I stumbled upon the expanded list of joint control assets once, but for the life of me cannot find it again. How do I pose an individual joint, such as the mouth, tongue, lips, or individual fingers?

Scene Pane by selecting the node and then either move them with a Gizmo or a slider in the Parameters Pane

    Thank you :)

I'll look into this as my busy day allows and will report back with results...

The fingers are all broken down into individual parts and can be selected in the Scene tab, but the mouth etc. are all part of the Head and they aren't posed, they're morphed. Select the Head in the Scene tab and you'll see all the relevant morph control dials in the Parameters tab.

But you can pose the tongue as it has bones

Szark's original reply put me right in that driver seat. I have actually been there many times while creating more morphs, but didn't remember, as I stumbled upon once, that "hip" expands, as the parent, then abdomen1 and abdomen2 (especially) expand to eventually reveal the head and even the pectorals. The latter has the breast morphs and are helpful, but the ones I made on my own augment them.

    Thank you both. (smiles)

Had you not found these morphs before you expanded the object tree in the Scene tab? They're all available in the Parameters tab when you have the figure root selected (although some are easier to find in the Shaping or Posing tab).

Another place to look is at the bottom of the Parameters tab, there's a Pose Controls section that changes depending on whether you have the whole body, head, hand, foot etc. selected (there are a lot of hand controls for individual fingers).

FWIW, I'm old-fashioned, I use the Parameters tab for pretty much everything, but lots of people here have found the Posing and Shaping tabs easier to use.

I'm with Kitty on this one. Parameters is your friend when it comes to morphs and pose controls. At this time (as far as I know) only Parameters will list them all because some still have not been updated to show in the Shaping and Pose Tabs.

I think I started using DS about 3 months ago or so. I stopped to learn Blender and Rigify. I stumbled on the nodes way back when and needed a quick reminder. It was truly pointing to the scene tree again that had me expand hip, then both abdomens, then all the rest.

I'm working on a number of facial and body morphs. I knew I'd expanded that tree once before, so it was there and I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but my own morphs augment the pectorals, in that case. Others make additional changes based on facial bones and muscles. The more d-formers, the more vertices. The up side to this is added character and age in a package. There are a number of added facets of finesse on top of all that's in the head library already.

I have some ideas for chaining d-formers. If it works I'll post something...

    Thanx for the tips!

I've been using it for selecting and transforming just about everything save for a preset as a starting position. As I just replied to the kitty, I just needed something to jog my memory. It can't hurt to discuss it and some associated areas for all to see for a while. I know this was one question I had in the beginning and doubt if I'd remember right off the bat what tut pointed me to Scene/Parameters to begin with. What might relate to that is "What hotkey toggles between them?"

I know I have things that just sink right in and others that I wanted to but didn't. Imagine that...

? I thought that's what all the fuss was in the few months of mass updating when it was discovered the Evolution sets weren't quite right and neither were a whole lot of other things. What's left to be fixed?
