Cool tool for building houses for your characters, and another for trees...

Greetings,
A long time ago I picked up Live Interior 3D as part of a Mac bundle and recently I remembered that I had it, and wondered if I could export a custom design I'd done of my house into DAZ.

Attached is the result, using Luxus and some custom light setups, with a random Genesis character added to the mix.

I don't have a recent photograph to share, but it looks a LOT like my actual living room. The fireplace is blown out because I put a point light there, and I suck at lighting. Some of the objects were pulled from Google Sketchup, which the program integrates with.

I'm not affiliated with them, I just really was very happy with how well it exported (via COLLADA) and imported into DAZ Studio. It's an alternate way to build your houses and populate them, then export to add characters in DAZ.

For iPad users, I also wanted to strongly recommend TreeSketch3 an AMAZING application for creating very detailed, custom trees using gestures on the iPad. The trees can be exported to OBJ format with textures and all, and then imported into DAZ Studio. You really should watch that video, it's awesome. Again, not affiliated, just blown away. :)

Unfortunately, it looks like it only works for Macs.

For Windows take a look at http://www.sweethome3d.com/index.jsp
It's free. It looks decent, but I've never used it.

Interesting. I probably purchased the same Mac bundle, since I have Live Interior 3D as well but never tried to incorporate it with Daz or Poser. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip.

And without even reading the instructions! I just watched the intro video and then bumbled along. Imagine what would be possible with a little learning.

I made another tree. This one is rendered with higher resolution.

Heh. Treesketch wants iOS 6. I knew I'd have to give in and upgrade soon....

    Thanks, Vaskania. :)

Never used it either but if it can be exported to DAZ, maybe I'll give it a try. But usually when something from another program is exported into DAZ, it comes with no textures. Don't know how to solve that problem
