Dynamic clothing sizing question

Hello all -

I have a question regarding dynamic clothing. I would occasionally like to have my v4, m4, and k4 characters wear dynamic clothing that does not exactly fit them correctly. For example, I am currently working on a project with a child, and I'd like him to be wearing pants that are too short for him - high-water pants, if you like. Is there a way to do this?

I have tried scaling them down along the Y axis, but as soon as I drape them, they just grow back to their full length. I realize there may be a parameter setting in the Dynamic Clothing Control (physics? panel?), but I have no idea which one it could be.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, as usual!

Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware there is no way to rescale dynamic clothing. It will always try to assume its original size. I myself have tried to use scaled down clothing on figures like K4 and Genesis Basic Child only to be met with similar problems. I do know that the full plugin offers additional controls for dynamic outfits, but I'm unsure whether this extends to being able to properly scale them.

The lack of controls is one of the reasons I still use Poser's cloth room for the majority of my dynamic cloth.

Scaling the figure to fit the clothing, running the dynamic simulation, freezing the simulation (or exporting the clothing as OBJ), and resetting the scale may help, though not so much with different proportions (though you could use one or more DForms to adjust those)

It does have two axes of limited-range scale control for each panel of cloth in the outfit. How well this works varies greatly between outfits.

For a recent picture I submitted for a competition I had this exact problem. I had to increase the size of my characters so that they could fit in a set which was too big. When I tried to put Dynamic Clothes on them the clothes looked two or three sizes too small! (I subsequently had to make the set itself smaller.)

So the answer is - make all your characters and items bigger!

EDIT: If you only want the clothes shorter by the Y-axis, for example, rather than tighter, scale everything up on the Y-axis, render, and then rescale down the rendered image.
