Does DIM uninstall before updating a product?

If I install a product with the DIM and it later finds an update for that product, will it uninstall the old version before installing the new one? I'm wondering, because I see that the AoA subsurface shader has an update, and DAZ has moved some files from one folder to another folder. Will DIM delete the files in the old location or leave them cluttering up my hard drive?

As I understand it (take with a grain of salt) DIM does a selective uninstall for updates; so the files that have moved will be deleted before the install. This is judged to be slightly faster than a full uninstall/install.But yes, in any case the old files will not be left on your system.

As long as it's being installed to the same location as the original then yes it will remove the old files

Thank you both. That sounds good.

In fact, even if you are installing to a new location it will uninstall the files from the old. It only leaves files that will be overwritten, since overwriting is faster than deleting and then creating a new file.
