Come on, Daz. Really ?

Quote from the promo page (emphasis mine).

Compatibility
Due to consistency of key body parts and shapes, such as feet users are able to utilize content and accessories intended for not only the Genesis 2 females, but to also leverage their Genesis content through the "auto fit" process.

I was so stoked to try the new Genesis, and this was one of the features that sold me on Gns2/V6.

All shoes in this pic were made for Gns1, and Autofitted to Gns2 :-(

I had no problems with Cuban shoes

Did you select Genesis before loading the shoes? I've noticed that if Genesis isn't selected prior to loading the item the autofit doesn't seem to work as well.

No, i loaded them first and then fitted to Gns2. Genesis stuff doesn't show in Smart Content with Gns2 selected.
Just tried it, and I am surprised to see that it actually makes quite a difference. Still not good, though.

Does that mean we'll have to re-buy everything we own for Genesis because autofit doesn't work properly? I realise DAZ has to keep refreshing the product line but I'm not reinvesting more money to rebuy all the Genesis clothing/hair etc that I already own if autofit doesn't work properly. Based on the product images I'm also not seeing a significant difference between Genesis 1 & 2 - at least not like the difference between M/V4 and Genesis.

I have been able to use the things I've tried via autofit without any problems....

Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. :)
Some will probably convert worse/better than other, just like the v4 shoes on Gns1 did.

Btw, love your avatar, great character.

Thanks...some convert better due to the way they are made. The old saying garbage in garbage out is oh sooo...true when converting clothing.

    I haven't tried converting from V4 yet...off to try!

Not really, only the shoes :)
From what i've seen so far Gns1 clothing autofits better to Gns2, than V4 did to Gns1. And i still use lots of V4 clothing on Gns1.

But i still am very dissapointed about the shoes. With the release of Gns2, i really expected them to have resolved the autofit shoe issues.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a relief to know I won't need to re-buy all my content that I've spent a fortune on over the last year. Concerning Genesis 2 is there a discernable difference between it and G1? I'm debating whether to upgrade but it looks incredibly similar to Genesis in the product images.

Since the basic difference is in the mesh level of detail and layout, much of what one would see won't be obvious until characters start to come out taking advantage of those features for those that don't create their own characters. The differences are in specific areas (as I and others have listed elsewhere) for the most part, so whether the changes matter will depend on a case-by-case situation.

Are there any images of G2 or comparisons with G1 available yet? The G2 product images don't appear to highlight the improvements.

It's easiest to see in the mesh at this point. An image of the Gen6f mesh was posted earlier, and is visible if one downloads the Essentials.

I want to buy the V6 pro bundle with some of the products from the selected Premier Artists on offer but the 50% discount doesn't seem to apply to their entire stores as advertised. I've started a thread about this and hopefully someone from DAZ will be able to clarify. If not, I'll email support.

show the real power of auto-fit is very useful I think. we may better not simply believe daz compatiblity.

I afraid many user do not concern the "Auto-fit" meaning, and just buy genesis2 to use genesis1 items.
or buy many genesis 1 items (maybe daz will sale) to use gen2.

I am now transferring my handmade morphs only from gen1 to gen2 by transfer utility.
Of course many JCM or MCM link can not be transfered, and I need set ERC and adjust rig again.
many poze controll morph and MCM for my character can not work with new daz gen2.
we must need to use hide gen1 clone about many case I believe.

why DAZ do not offer perfect much gen1 zero shape morph whici adjust rig positon as same as before genesis1 zero shape)
for gen female (and male) base genesis?

On the other hand, DAZ release V4 shape for gen2 again. (is it really useful? I do not think so, for genesis user)
    I know next, generation X for gen1 to gen2 may rellease .

I need to buy V4shape for genesis. and I can not use A5 materials,,etc.
