Genesis 2 Finger Poses [Solved]

I thought I'd do a quick render of my newly acquired Fast Grab Dynamic Qi Pao Dress together with Genesis 2 Female, using an official Genesis 2 Female Pose (Pose #18). The dress looks nice, but ... what on earth is going on with the fingers?

Now I know that cross-generation poses are often likely to give these sorts of results, but I did not expect it of poses specifically designed for a figure. Some of the other poses give dubious finger contortions also. Ironically the pose looks better on Genesis 1.

Funny fingers, or is that "fun fingers" :-P

BTW, thanks for the heads up on the Fast Grab items. Dynamic clothing rarely comes up on sale and this one is a great money saver.

Did you apply any other poses before settling on that one? I've noticed with Gn1 that sometimes, there are lingering effects from previous poses.

Thats a good point. Zero the pose of G2F and then reapply the pose you want and it might correct itself.

Or just dial up the finger grasp morph on the hand:) Think that's what its called, I know one of them straitens out the fingers lol.

No, the "mistake" is straight out of the box. You can test it yourself in about 5 seconds:
    a) Load Genesis 2 Female;
    b) Apply Pose #18.

Naturally, it can be corrected. My basic concern is one of quality control. Is this supposed to be a bona fide Genesis 2 pose, or is it an old Genesis pose which has mistakenly slipped through?

Maybe the pose is what it is. The blurry picture is the blown up icon .png for pose 18.

Yes, it looks like you're right. The default Bend limit for Index 3 is -10, the pose has -23.68. The Bend limit for Index 2 is -12, the pose has -20. These are specified in the .duf file.

So my picture is the pose with the rotation limits off. The picture you posted has them on. I have changed my default setting in Preferences to "limits on" (I can't even remember turning them off) and it now loads "correctly". But it seems bizarre to me that the pose was even created with them off.

    Minor enlightenment!

Two quick questions- how to zero a pose? For Genesis, in Smart Content, they have that figure under poses to click on, but what's the faster way? Second, where is the Preferences to set the limits to On?

I am not aware of a faster way than using either the Powerpose reset button, or one of the menu items. Perhaps someone else knows a keyboard shortcut that will do it. However, I have just added the "Restore Figure Pose" action (with it's neat icon) onto my Custom Menu via the Customize function (F3), so that zeroing the pose is always only a click away.

    As for the Limits setting:
    Edit > Preferences (F2) > Content Library > Pose/Shaping Preset Loading.

Never occurred to me the culprit was having limits turned off. Like most, the default is limits turned on. But I recently had to turn limits off to use Smay's Yoga pose set for Genesis that I picked up during the last flash sale. Again, there was issues with the hands on Gen2, but setting the left and right hand "Fingers Straightened" pose to -1 worked perfectly.

Zero Pose > Parameters pane Option Box

Also in the same Menu you have "Memorise" there you can memorise Pose and Shape.
