Koz' LongHairEvo

My request is a modern hair for G8f, that looks like good old Koz hair.

And I still use some of the Kozaburo hairs. (Links to them, and other free hair, here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/447/free-hair-and-hair-related-items-list/p1 )

Wow... what an amazing resource. Thanks for the "heads-up". Many thanks to Kerya for compiling and posting this very long list of links. (Some don't work any more but that is not surprising... a great resource, all the same.)

EDIT: I have just made some quick morphs for Kozaburo's Maya Twintails Hair and posted an image of them on the thread linked above.

    too messy.

    https://www.daz3d.com/jolina-hair
    too much volume.

    https://www.daz3d.com/ktarya-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-female-s
    too messy.

    https://www.daz3d.com/sophia-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-female-s
    too much volume.

Why can't someone just create straight hair with no volume and no mess?  Is that so hard?

Kozaburo has some nice hair styles, but very outdated now and fitting old hair can be a nightmare.  The major problem with OOT hair is that it always has that straight out of the salon look with too much volume.

LongHairEvo is a perfect example that just needs some modern day update.  Examples of straight, long hair that aren't volume crazy or super messy.

Normal, simple looking hair... oh yes, that would be great but it seems to me that most vendors/PAs like to produce hair that looks like it came from a hairstylists magazine. Try finding a normal everyday hair figure for males... it's even more difficult!

Why the assumption that if it looks like it came out of a stylists magazine that it's not what a person actually uses every day?

If you want flat hair, I suggest taking one of the hairs I listed and dForcing it. That'll kill your volume but good.

No volume does not necessarily mean flat.  It means the hair closely follows the outline of the head, like natural hair.  The hair itself can have thickness and layers, just lay off the crazy volume.

So, no volume, as in, no "unnatural" volume.  Dry hair has its own natural lift. Call it natural volume, if you wish.

See Zbrush thread called Wonderful woman.  It has some nice examples of realistic 3D hair (not flat):

Well, you're certainly welcome to wait for someone to release volumeless hair rather than using existing tools to achieve your goals.

We've been waiting around since V4, so I don't think that's going to help.  The Daz Store has limited choices when it comes to natural hair.  People must go elsewhere to find it, or use old V4 hair.

Maybe that's why they are available elsewhere; DAZ had no interest in them.

Hence the suggestion, that you dismissed because you wanted to wait for a hair model.

Fabiana's "Eternal Kyra Hair" for V4 looks good, and can be parented to G8. It is long, straight hair, and comes with optional bangs/fringe. It is now on sale for 50% off at Renderosity. The textures are Poser materials only, so you would need alternative texture shaders such as my favorite: https://www.daz3d.com/uht2-ultimate-color

These are similar in style, but vendors don't give credits, so I don't know what hair they're using.

PD Gloria by P3Design (image 1 of 8)
Alyce for Dawn by Tempesta3d (image 2 of 8)

In the first example, since the figure is V4 morph, it's quite likely a V4 hair. In the second case, it's probably a hair for Dawn.
