Installation of Content Grief/Rant
Well, after installing a new SSD, I decided to move all my content from my old drive to my new one.
But DAZ3D just can't find the files and the whole system is just one confusing mess, IMO.
I've been using the download manager application to no avail. Anytime I try to access any asset, keeps saying file not found. Even with a fresh install and redownloaded all the content for the THIRD time today it STILL refuses to look in any other folder but the default ones. Even when I go back into the Content Library tab and recheck, files are still not found.
Lovely.
I've tried getting DAZ studio to access the second hard drive folders (via the content manager settings in the settings panel) but it just ignores me.
What a wonderful new non-buggy intuitive setup that's been created. We must have more. /sarcasm
-- Edit --
For the path given on the error, I get: "/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Genesis.dsf"
Seems to me the important "/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/DAZ3D" has gone missing from that path...

Did you clone the drive, or reinstall the OS, or is the content on the old drive?
I tried copying at first. That didn't work. So I removed all DAZ3D data and content, tried reinstalling the content. That didn't work. So I started with a "fresh" reinstall of DAZ3D by removing it all, then did a reinstall that way.
Same problem.
Studio uses relative addressing, “/Volumes/Macintosh HD/Library/DAZ3D” is not missing because it is not needed. For relative addressing to work the content and files must be in a folder that is listed in the Content Directory Manager.
Well, that's the path in my Content Directory Manager yet DAZ still can't find any files. The directories do exist.
I've set both the target directories inside DAZ3D as well as the DIM.
It's refusing to see files on another HDD and I'm *not* putting DAZ content on my SSD.
I had similar problems when I added my external HD content. I had it mapped as h:/external runtimes/daz studio
It got fixed when I added the path as h:/external runtimes/daz studio/content
Hope it helps.
Can you post these 2 screenshots:
1) In DS, Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats"
2) In DIM, on Ready to Install tab check the "Show Details" box in the lower right
And what is the full path to Genesis.dsf?
I think I got it to work but did things backwards.
Removed everything, all the support files found in /Library and /Users/Shared Users.
Installed DAZ studio. Didn't even open it.
Installed the Download Manager. Changed the install directlry and made sure stuff was dumped there. Installed one small item.
Loaded DAZ, then set the folder.
Previously I did it the other way, I installed DAZ then set the folder before installing stuff.
What a pain and I'm not sure I like the new 4.6 interface.
The order you did things has no bearing, Studio and DIM work independently of each other. All that matter is that the install location(s)* in DIM match the location(s) in Studio's Content Directory Manager.
*(DIM can have multiple, make sure the Show Details box is checked to utilize)
