a lot of my curious tea products won't install with the DIM

I get a download failed message. Are there some known products that don't work with DIM?

They seemed to work okay here. Any others in particular you're having problems with?

that did not work for me, and yet my other products that I did afterwards did work. I even tried restarting the DIM. That is weird. I wonder what my problem was.
I tried so many times and kept getting same error. I thought it might be because I had it set to download poser stuff too and wehn i did it manually some of the installers were the old installers.

Did you try taking a look in your download directory (wherever you set DIM to download to), and deleting any "*.part" files found there? additionally, delete IM00010496-01_ACuriousTeaEatMeDS.zip and IM00010498-03_ACuriousTeaDrinkMeDS.zip, then run DIM and try the download again?

hmmm - no I didn't but I think I did try installing to a different folder. I should have tried downloading to an empty folder. good thought.

A number of people have been getting failed downloads with DIM this weekend -- DAZ 3D has been notified.

now I can get all of them except for the eatme ones which dont' even show up in my list even though they are not in my download folder.
they show up in my product list at DAZ though. But clicking the download instal link doesn't bring them into my DIM.

edited: nvm, I see you said it did appear in your Product Library...

... did you want to keep fiddling with finding the root cause, or did you just want to use the product in a render?

If the latter, then perhaps use the blue "Manual?" button to download the ZIP file by hand, then place it in your DIM Downloads directory that you screenshotted over in the other thread, then see if it appears in the second DIM tab "Ready to Install"?

(also, if you're feeling ultra-paranoid, you can run a ZIP tester on the downloaded 23.86MB file to ensure it is indeed 100% uncorrupted).

The other thing that just came to mind - what Filter flags do you have set on your DIM? from memory, I have just the "DS 4.5+" files, Hexagon, Vue but nothing Poser-related... maybe we've found a file here that's got incorrect flags set on it (if I can see it and download it with no problems, and you can't...).

i think it would be safer if we try and find the root cause. so i changed the filter flag and added poser 9, the other posers were already added, but still not showing up in DIM.

maybe this is the cause. I see in installed list it showing up as already installed. So even though I removed all the dsx, zips and folders from the folder it downloads to, because I have a different folder where it installed, it still sees the dxx (because I did already manually install yesterday when it wouldn't download which was a different problem)

Aha! yes - that will do it (having the DIM database out of sync with what's actually on your HD)... (^_^)d.

Click on the "Uninstall" button to the right there, of the Curious Tea, and then it should reappear in... probably the leftmost tab I'd guess (if you've not put any new files into your "Ready To Install" directory).

(you may also end up with some "file not found" errors while you're trying to bring the DIM database back into alignment with what's there... hopefully you can click through those and the DIM has been written in such a fashion to be able to "get back into normal operation" in situations like this (operator moves/modifies/deletes folders behind it's back)). *fingers crossed* for you! (>_<)x.

well i removed the dsx folders from the folder where I installed (just temporarily put them in trash) but it did not fix the problem, as the items still do not show up in the ready to download section of DIM.

Yep - they won't until you convince DIM that the product has _definitely_ been uninstalled. Try the Uninstall button (on just that product!) first?

yes, you were right. that fixed the problem. I should have just looked in that list in the first place. I think I am starting to get DIM now. I still don't know why things failed to download yesterday but someone said that others had problems too, so that may have been a glitch.

I would have been using DIM a lot sooner if the release info had been worded better. I saw the bit about needing to uninstall everything previous, and just flipped out. I have way too much content to do that. Now i see that isn't needed and i am sooo much happier. thanks everyone.

I wonder if my download failed yesterday was due to the fact I had just purchased things and maybe some part of daz hadn't told DIM that it was okay to download.

Glad to see you've got things under control again (^_^)d.

It updates the filters somewhere inside DIM. fixmypcmike posted about it somewhere... that I can't find right now >_<. fwiw I downloaded and installed it, just to keep DIM "up-to-date". v(^_^)v.

Those are what gives you the "Filter by Date/SKU/Tag" presets:
