Missing files in Studio 4.6 Pro
I installed the Studio 4.6 manually with DIM, and found there was no exe.
Installed Studio 4.6 manually, then used the DIM to download and install Victoria 6 bundle. I cannot even get a basic Genesis figure to load, I get the error message c:\users\name\documents\daz 3d\studio\my library\people\genesis\genesis.dsf File does not exist.
Then, in trying to load the V6 figure, there are some more
\data\daz 3d\genesis 2\female\morphs\daz 3d\base\pbmnavel.dsf
\data\daz 3d\genesis 2\female\genesis2female.dsf
\data\daz 3d\genesis 2\female\morphs\daz 3d\victoria 6\ctrlvictora6.dsf
Files not found
I did a seach of the hard drive, and found that the above mentioned files do not exist anywhere on the hard drive. So, now what?
Did I overlook a required prerequisite for the V6 figure? Do I need to acquire the Genesis 2 figure separately?
Not sure where to go next
Anyone else see something like this? Thanks!!

Did you install the Genesis 2 female essentials ?
I think I did. DIM shows "Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials" as being installed. However, I just let DIM have at it from the DAZ website with the V6 bundle, so if there's a particular order I need to follow, I wouldn't guarantee I did that.
On looking at it again, I think I see the problem. DIM put some of the materials in the "public" folder rather than my user folder. I do see the Genesis 2 base female file in that directory tree.
You can change the isntall location DIM uses by clicking the gear icon at top-right to open preferences, then going to the Install tab and clicking the + to add a new directory. Then to set the location files are placed in when using DIM click the Show Details check box (it is only available when downloads are set to install or in the ready to install tab) and pick the desired folder.
Thanks all for the help! It's clear to me now that my issues stem from install paths, so I'll leave with this: Is there a preferred place to install Studio files that will minimize the hassles of future installs? \users\public\documents\my daz 3d library\ for example?
Thanks again for the patience shown to a noob.

"all in one place" is enough, as long as you tell Studio where the place is. Public has the benefit of being accessable regardless of whether you're logging in with your admin account or your regular account.
