You should make a 'channel' that is just genesis 2 since the new species needs its own unique everything. Should be easier to shop by character since everything else is now obsolete.

Nothing else is obsolete. There has just been an addition to the range is all.
With respect to the way that you 'spin' your propaganda, the fact is that you did obsolete most of your genesis morphs since the genesis 2 range has a jawbone... so older morphs aren't going to work on the new range.
I don't see why you would argue with your customers instead of just taking some advice.
I also take issue with changing the install formats... I'm finding that your new downloads aren't going to the proper respective folders and to be honest, I liked the old install files because they worked. I keep having to manually put my files into place because your new way isn't working.
If you have problems with this sort of thing and want to let DAZ 3D know then you should contact DAZ 3D directly, instead of posting to the forums which are provided by the company for the benefit of forum members, and are "staffed" by moderators like me, who are all volunteers from the community.
Filing a bug report, and using "Feature" as the severity would be the way to do this
Adding a new generation to the figures available does not make previous generations obsolete. THere are still many peoplearound who are still using generation 3 figure regularly, and certainly generation 4 is extremely popular.

If you are having problems with DIM, you should post a query on that. I use it everyday, and it has never put anything in the wrong place, and I have about 2,000 items installed uisng it.
I have transferred all of my Genesis 1 morphs to Genesis 2, and they all seem to work. I haven't tested them all, as I only did it yesterday, but you can find out how to do that here : http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24093/P15

But I think it does benefit everybody to know that the new Genesis isn't backwards compatible when you consider that a lot of us have invested heavily into our Victoria 4 and 5 skins.
As I pointed out, I was speaking about the new 'jaw' that is in Genesis, so to be more specific, none of your expression morphs will work but then add to that the fact that you can't use the vast majority of 'character' files because let's face it, most of what people have isn't going to be in the '.duf' file format.
To date I think the company is misrepresenting that by not just coming out and saying this is not a backwards compatible product.
Maybe that will get fixed by a mod in the future but by whats on offer now, that is the reality.
Just because you don't have a problem doesn't mean other people don't. If you have 2000 items, I'm very happy that you have that kind of time and money to invest into your grand perfection of a filing system... Now you have a new sub-directory and filing system to keep track of. :) Someday the rest of us will be as organized.

Actually, Genesis 2 isn't backwards compatible with most of Victoria's previous generation characters. You can't use V4 or most of v5 characters and the clothing is going to auto-fit with varied results... You can't use the expressions from any of the previous versions so those are not usable including poses that have expressions built in.
So... I either have to go out and re-invest so that I can have a variety of characters or not take advantage of the new format that is suppose to be an improvement which by definition obsoletes any previous incompatible software.
So, since I can't use many of the old files and characters with the new standard, I stand by the idea that you create a new file section just for the G2 range.
I think its a shame that DAZ 3D has no realistic looking characters that I've seen with V6. The picture I submitted was a v4 on Genesis 1 body.
I like the idea of G2 but without backwards comparability... everything not Genesis 2 is pouring money down the toilet since its not usable.
So... make a new section for just G2 compatible items or start telling people 'not compatible with g2'.
V4 wasn't backwards compatable with V3 at all. We're spoiled with trying to have any compatability.
I suppose that is to me the strength of Genesis 1, that I could put my V4 skin on it or make it into anything else. I get the non-stretching idea of Genesis 2 for clothing and shapes, it has a much more realistic shape and I'm certain that down the line, I'm going to love Genesis 2 eventually... when better, more realistic characters and ethnicity are supported.
As I look at whats coming out, V4 characters are still being released and the most likely aren't going to be '.duf' based, so they won't work in the new G2 characters... so it makes no sense (for me) to buy any of it if I plan on moving up to G2 base.
I can see that this character base is going to be the future and I don't have an issue with that... Genesis will still have a life apes, gorillas and the host of other characters...
I suppose if I want realistic looking characters, I'll have to make them myself.

Sort of but I think maybe I'm just being angry and looking for something to complain about. I should probably just shut the hell up before I make more of an @$$ of myself. LOL
