Depth of Field Seems Temperamental

Version 4.6.0.18 64-bit OS/X

Has anybody else noticed that DOF just sometimes goes AWOL on a render?

I'll get it all set up on a camera and then...nada. I try again later, same camera, same position, and it works like a champ.

I must be doing something in between shots to pacify this gremlin, but I haven't figured out what the proper incantation is to get it to work reliably.

    I find it best to use the Perspective Camera in DS from a side angle to see what I am really doing with the camera I am rendering from. That way when you turn on DOF in the camera on the Parameters Tab, you can adjust your F/Stop and Focal Distance and see exactly where they are.
