Scale? Is everything automatically imported at the correct scale?

I have imported a Blackhawk helicopter and a genesis person. I think the Blackhawk helicopter is too big compared to the person but I am not completely sure. I have looked at photos of the size of the Blackhawk on the internet compared to people. Granted it is a reasonably big helicopter but still I think it is too big in daz. what exactly are the policies and technicalities behind scale in daz studio with regards to people and props? dioes everything import according to scale or are there no rules and you have to constantly adjust to taste?

cheers for any info

Broadly I think things are to scale, though there are occasional variations. For example SoulessEmpathy's Bar Interior is about 20-25% too large. My customers looked like kids at first, with their feet dangling from the chairs! So I just rescaled it down.

Everything is not automatically imported at the correct scale. You will have to make adjustments for some imported objects. So far it appears that most, but not all, of the things that have been designed for use with DAZ/Poser that I have imported do seem to be at roughly the correct scale, however if you start working with content designed in or for other applications you may run into a lot more that needs to be rescaled.
In the OBJImportOptions dialog that pops up during import, set the "From" field to the application you are importing objects from. Of course this only has meaning if the object was created to scale that matches upon conversion; if it doesn't you can select Custom from the dropdown instead, or simply resize it. There are other options in that window too that you may need, for example the X,Y, and Z axes in some applications are different and the object will import sideways in addition to being at a different scale.
