How do I edit the names for M4 Army Combat Uniform and Army Combat Uniform for Victoria 4?

Ok I may have missed it somewhere since finding anything installed in my DAZ Studio 4 runtimes takes hours if I’m lucky since everything somehow got installed over several folders and runtimes, but is there a template for making names for these uniforms someplace?

The best I can find are the mat pose file for the names but the picture is accompanied with a DAZ Script 2 (Ascii) file. I’m a bit leery to copy one of these and try to figure out how to edit one of them.

I’ve tried to download or open the listed two texture resource files that are listed with the M4 Army Combat Uniform (the one I have purchased right now) but I cant seem to open anything in them to even see whats there. Trying to do so gets me a “Windows can’t open this file” message.

It would be nice to have custom names to go with my cast of characters instead of being forced to use the ones provided or don’t use them at all.

Thanks for any help.

One of the files on the Resources page is for Mac (ZIP), the EXE on is for windows.

    The Product Page also says

MAT files to change name and rank
, it might be easier to just use those. When you load the uniform, use the Surface selection Tool (Alt + Shift + M), click on the part with the name, then go to the Surfaces pane, and that part of the texture will be selected. Right click on the Diffuse, and Browse to File Location to find where the texture is. Copy it, and put your own name on it in Gimp or PS, and make sure to save it under a different name.

It may be easier to do than that, but I don;t have this uniform.

    Thanks.
I might have to try that. Hopefully it will work out easy enough and work for the V4 version of the outfit as well.

Or just select the Name Badge texture in diffuse Surfaces, Open the LIE with the browse function and add a Overlay of the Name as a Trans mapped png.

You completely lost me on all that. I havent used DAZ 4.5 until today really so I barley know how to even find my installed content in it, let alone how to even do the stuff I used to know when I used the previous version of DAZ Studio.

-On the plus side, I did find the texture files for the M4 Army Combat Uniform and did manage to create a test name texture that worked. There was a blank template to use except it has the private rank on it so I still have to figure how to change that.

Once I get that figured out I still have to see if I can make these into a regular runtime folder instead of having to do a browse and instal on them.

OPPS, Red Face here, from the way your post read I thought you knew a bit beyond what you did. When you have your Textures ready for the Private tag let me know. I do know how to save them for using again. I will check my files and look into doing the other name tags as well.

Just post here again. I'm on most days.

    Lol! No worries.

It might take a while since I still need to come up with all the names for my group I plan on using for this series of renders. I’m hoping I can figure out how to edit out the private emblem with other ranks so I have a base template for each rank.
