Selective Morph Application

Is it possible apply a Genesis shape to one body part only. Say for instance I wanted to create a Hellboy character. It there a way for me apply a Mr Hyde hand shape to the left hand only?

I've seen this done in a few videos but am really clueless as to how to accomplish it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Is there perhaps a DAZ instructional video on this somewhere?

    The only way to do it is to use a modeller to create a new morph, with luck by applying the existing morph 9exported as OBJ) to a selected part of the base mesh.

    So let's say it's a FBM and I need to make work on a single part. Let me know if this tracks.

    1. Apply FBM Morph.
    2. Export OBJ.
    3. Import with Morph Loader pro and make it a morph for a particular group?

    Something like that?

    Richard say,,,

    you need modelor which can transfer selected vertices only from other morph target shape.

    eg Blender can do it.
    (You can do it by Hexagon too,, but it is not simple. it may be my original way, and actually
    need more steps,,,if you try it,, e blender is more easy,,,)

    but after transfer selected mesh, you need to adjust the joint aera . because it simple translate the vertices of current positon
    so that hand vertcies only move much (keep the new shape) .

    then you need to select vertices of hand to good positon and, smooth around joint area.

    if you are used to blender,

    like that.

    1 exprot zero shape genesis obj, next export your morped shape as obj eg Mr.hide
    then set shape key of Mr hide shape for the default genesis.

    2 now genesis obj has two shape key, 1 is zero shape , the other is Mr. hide shape.

    3 on zero shape key,
    in edit mode, select the vertices which you want to translate from Mr. hide.
    about your case,, hand,, so that select hand by surface group selection, of genesis (you need to edit on zero shape key)
    then use Blend From Shapes. it can blend the shape which you selected only, from another shape key.
    you can select shape key which you want Blend.

    4 adjust the hand positon, and smooth the joint area,, keep good mesh looping.

    5 export the current shape, and improt is as morph target for zero shape genesis on daz studio.

    Of course,, before tyring it,,, you may better to seruch you tube, about shape key. ^^;
    it is not easy to tell all steps,,,

    I think I kind of sorta follow that. Seems like a convoluted process to be certain. I wonder if just coming up with something custom using GoZ and Z-Brush might not be a faster solution for me.

    Yes,, if Z brush can transfer selected mesh (or gorup) from other morph target (must need keep vertex order, and poligon counts)
    it may work.

    I know modo can do same things, but I do not have ^^;
