Hidily ho!

Something I always wanted to see is a model of this made, the B-Liner from the classic Commodore-64 and Apple Game, In Search of the Most Amazing Thing , the hot-air balloon/airship thing you see on the cover I am posting, here. Any ideas what bits and pieces can be used to make a reasonable facsimile of it?

Thanks! :D

Air Medusa and the Blob Zeppelin from 1971s come to mind... they're not the perfekt copy, but maybe if you combine them and work on the textures...

Or maybe add a freebie ufo to one of the balloons...

If I had better reference pictures, I could try making one for you (if freebie static prop is what you want) but it'd take a couple of days at least.

    That's neighborly of you :D
Well, there's not too many pictures....mainly this one I posted of the box art, plus there's a couple of close up drawings in the book the game came with The Adventures of Smoke Bailey, but not much. Also, screen shots of the actual game have very simplistic graphics, and the balloon part of it is very out of scale in the game play, due to the limited graphics.

In Search of the Most Amazing Thing via google or a yahoo image search is the only way and there's not much reference, as I said.

I'd use the DAZ Hot Air Balloon and kitbash some bits from NASA's free 3D Model Archive.

No links handy for either, but I can find them if you need them.

The original Hot Air Balloon gives a 404 error despite showing up in a store search, but there's a newer one here : http://www.daz3d.com/predatron-hot-air-balloon

NASA's free 3D Model Repository is here : http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/3d_resources/models.html Lots of great stuff there! Just be sure to credit them, it's their only use requirement.

    Hope it helps.

I can't see well the details on underbalooon part. If you are ok with that details might vary from the poster, I can give it a try.
