problem with duf save in daz 4.6

edited December 1969 in The Commons

hello
installed daz 4.6 recently.
had a library of daz 3 content.
when im trying to save a scene with old content (not genesis e.g v3 v4 m4 etc) and then open the duf file
the pop up box reads "some assets needed to load are missing"......."the following files cannot be found"
and then a list of files.....
however.....when saving a genesis figure and content everything works fine...it opens like it should.
i entered all of my old content folders to the db manager and still i cant save a scene with old content....
any ideas? im very frustrated....
thank you !!!

I just tried this, I saved an M4 with Major Cache from my Gen 4 library, and reloaded it without error.

I looked in my folder for your missing morphs, and they are all there in

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Gen 4 Content\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4\Deltas\Morphs++

It looks as though your Morphs++ for M4 are not installed where DS expects them to be. Did you look to see if you actualy have these files in the same runtime folder as M4, because that is where they must be installed to?

    hello jimmy
no...the morphs are not installed in the same folder.....however.....ds3 always found them....even if they were in seperate folders.....do you think i can manage that in ds4.6?
    thanks

As far as I know, the installer for Morphs++ will not allow you to install to another folder, it will say that a required file is missing (M4). I don't believe that you can use them from a different folder, but someone else may know different.

Morphs++ won't work properly if it isn't in the same runtime as M4 base. In any event, the runtime with the morph data needs to be listed in DS as a Poser-format content folder.

Nahh its a bug I posted this elsewhere and was told by an experience member that this was a bug he also gets so often as well. My morphs are all where they should be. I submitted a bug report a few weeks back

In this case the morphs are not installed in the correct folder, and it wont work properly anyway.

Your problem may well be a bug, but I don't think this one is, as DS is clearly looking in the correct folder for the morphs.

    hello
for what its worth-i solved my problem:in my old ds3 days; i saved my scenes in some folder un related to ds3.
on ds4-i have to save my scenes in c:/users/........./daz3/studio/scenes or ...../scene

this way ds4 finds all my ds3 morphs and stuff and i can now save duf format with ds4 or ds3 content with no problems.....
so it was just the location of my saved scenes that was the problem
    thank you all/
