Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female Utiltiy Shape Transfer Question

I've been trying to figure out how to use this utility which should allow you to use V4 textures and shapes for Genesis 2. Unfortunately there is no documentation that explains how to do this aimed at beginners. After posting request for help I got some help for the texture transfer

The people above put in a lot of effort to give clear step-by-step instructions and if you've ever done this, you know it always takes a lot more time and effort than anyone thinks. So, we should all be very grateful that kind people, who understand how to explain things well, exist. We thank them profusely.

I tried it and it works well. Next step is to be able to transer Shapes. I've asked, but still no answer to how to do the same thing for V4 to Genesis2 Female shapes.

I'm guessing it is very similar to the procedure above but in this case you are saving morphs. I tried saving my V4 Thorne character as a shape preset and applying it to Genesis 2, but although it made a minor shape change it failed pretty much.

So, that's my request.

For transferring V4 character shapes to Genesis, most people use the GenX plugin.

Dimension 3D has said that he will make a new version of GenX to do the same thing for Genesis2, but that will take some time I think. There may be other ways of doing it, but I don;t know of any.

They are doing that in this thread.. Transferring Genesis Morphs to Genesis 2F, How I did it (now with Clones!) Personally, I'll just wait for the GenX upgrade.

Thanks for the info about a new version of GenX which will do shapes once it is available, however:

Based on reading the description of this program:

"Generation 6, meet Generation 4! Victoria 4 for the Genesis 2 Female gives you a path to use your existing Victoria 4 accessories and textures on your Genesis 2 Female characters. Use the AutoFit clone to access your favorite outfits, the Victoria 4 UV set to use your favorite textures, and the Victoria 4 figure shape to see a familiar face."

I took this to mean that this program not only let you tansfer V4 textures and V4 Shapes. Am I wrong about this?
Since the texture transfer takes more than a click or two, I assume shape transfer also takes a bit of work and that is what I'm trying to find out.

The V4->G2F product does not do shapes I'm afraid. I'm glad my video helped somewhat in transferring over the V4 textures.

The line reads 'and the Victoria 4 figure shape to see a familiar face.' which refers to just the base V4 shape being included as a morph for G2F.

So unfortunately you'll have to wait for the GenX product, or follow the instructions in Kattey's thread.

Thanks for clearing this up. Had I known it was only V4 textures I probably would not have bought it, but I think it also helps with Autofitting clothing and maybe hair?, so I guess it is worth purchasing.

Do you know whether the new GenX will also take care of texture transfer from V4 to Genesis2 or will that only work for shape morphs ?

GenX just transfers shapes. BTW, a lot of the V5 textures have V4 UVs so even if you have V5 textures you might still need the V4 for Genesis product that you say you purchased. The only bad thing is you have to go in and save the V4 and V5 (with V4 UVs) textures as material presets. I read it's best to apply the texture to V4 then save the material preset. (You can apply the texture to Genesis but I read you can get some distortion. I haven't checked myself...but makes sense to me as Genesis V5 has some distortion when V4 skins are applied.)

I bought it 'for' the V4 texture transfers! Yes it makes autofitting V4 clothes to G2 possible. And there are body/head/fbm morphs to give V4 shape to G2.

Oh yeah that too. You get the basic shape of V4 and definitely worth getting the auto fit clone. GenX gives you the ability to save off characters and morphs.
