As long as you set the location as the Downloads folder, by clicking the gear at top-right of the DIM screen to get to preferences, it should work from any writable location - I'm not sure about CDs or DVDs. It does require both the properly formatted zip and the .dsx file that goes with it, however, it won't unzip just anything.

You can download from 1 computer and burn it to disc or save it on a flash drive and install it on another machine. Just be sure to take the whole downloads folder with the .dsx and the zips. If you burn it to disc you may need to put the files on your system before they can be installed. I haven't heard of anyone doing it by disc so don't know the outcome.

Thanks for that, the thing is, is that I have a copy of Poser7 with a lot of content on the CD. I had Poser7 installed on my last computer but could never get the hang of using it so I just want to install the content from the disk but not the program. Can this be done...?

Not with DIM, that works with the zips from DAZ. But all you need to do is copy the Runtime folders across from the CD and tell Poser ro DAZ Studio where they are.
