Confusion about new Blood Queen outfit. For instance, what is it? And why?

Hi guys,

I'm a little confused by this item: http://www.daz3d.com/blood-queen

What is it? Is it a strange skirt that is far too big, or a bucket to collect rainwater around the nether regions?

I am all for unique design, but this is beyond my comprehension and I feel the need for an explanation.

Cheers,
Barry.

More to the point, based on the promo images -- what keeps that skirt-thing from dropping down around the ankles???

I am of the opinion that it is either held there with various magical effects which harness the power of magnetism, or velcro!

I can't stop looking at it and wondering, though.

Which is odd considering just how much I don't want it!

Honestly, I don't think it's any more out there than many of the designs in the store. Not to my taste, but may appeal to others.

This is true, but most of the other extreme outfits don't seem to rely on an in-built anti-gravity effect.

There are, however, a number of outfits that seem to rely on double-sided carpet tape to keep the breasts from coming out to play.

That's the first thing that caught my eyes browsing on my lunch break too. Seriously, what?

It's a shame because the outfit looks very well detailed and if that floating skirt were hiked up a notch and deflated to fit next to the waist, I could actually see a person wearing it. Aside from the incomprehensibly gravity-immune...belt?, it's stunning. That's some really, really nice attention to displacement mapping which doesn't often turn up.

EDIT: Geez, judging by the promos, it comes with useful shaping morphs and a character to boot. I'm buying it even if I can't use it ever.

It says it comes with a Blood Queen shape for Genesis, that's a character as far as I'm concerned. There are also images of it in the promos, unless I'm terribly misreading something.

EDIT: It may just be a body shape, guess I'll find out in a couple minutes. Regardless, attention to little things like that make items like this well worth it for me.

I think they're only shaping presets for the regions affected by the clothing, for instance making the waist smaller to fit the intended shape of the corset.

I have to admit, I love that outfit, but the odd fitting on the hips is the only thing holding me back. I may buy it anyways, not use the skirt, and use the rest as fetish wear. o_O

It is just a set of shaping morphs for Genesis. The outfit has all kinds of adjustment and movement morphs, though [why these don't get listed I don't know]. And it fit close to the legs pretty nicely with minimal work. Give me a couple minutes and I'll throw up a render.

Only thing I can think of. She is wearing some sort of chastity belt type panties, and they are attaching to the skirt in an area you cannot see :P

I'd certainly like to see some women in the real world attach their heavy skirt / dress to their panties for support. Could lead to an interesting tale over a glass of wine or beer *snicker* ;-)

The loincloths are rigged to follow the legs, unfortunately, and the corset tends to stick out a good distance past the suit around the breasts. There are morphs to fix the former, but the loincloths don't have much movements beyond some swaying. The sleeve styling morphs are nice and varied.

The shaders don't load anything like the promos. I eventually wound up using my own. The suit for one came out very light and glowy, like it had ambient or reflection set, and I couldn't figure out how to disable it. Even killing the diffuse and specular left some behind, and I got rather bored with investigating.

Same thought here... but Agent seems to have "snugged" them up nicely (^_^)d. Into the cart it goes...

... I wonder if the promo "bucket" shape might work with a lace shader (`.`)... or maybe I'm just not avant-garde enough >_<.</p>

Yep, same here, and if worse comes to worse I'll use the skirt as some funky hat.. or something. lol

My main objection is the outfit looks stiff like it is made of cardboard or something.

Corrected..I realize this isn't v6 thanks for the correction.

I have so far not bought any v6 clothing. I do not find it to my taste.

My main objection is the outfit looks stiff like it is made of cardboard or something.

The outfit is G1/V5, not G2F/V6.

Plenty of room for her pistol, iphone, purse.... perfect for those shoplifting trips to the mall.

Damn if you didn't take the words right out of my mouth, especially since the skirt's sides are metal. Definitely not a purchase for me.

LOL I feel ya. I just had family in town, and every time I surfed the site I had to remind my mom that I was looking at a site for my 3D stuff and not a porn site.

On the outfit, I mainly like the corset/bodysuit, but I also dig renders that contain a lot of latex, bodysuits, and gasmasks if you catch my drift (which I know isn't everybody's thing).

...well letsee, the skirt is pretty lame, the boots have high heels (what's new?) so about the only part besides the choker that works for me is the main suit as a different style of swimwear (but then I already have Sickle Yield's Classic Swimwear so I'm good).

As to the Hot College Girl Uniform, I wouldn't even get it if it were a PC 1.99$ item. This isn't clothing, it's fetish wear plain & simple.

Glad I'm not at a hotspot right now as I'd be embarrassed to open the main store page (which also includes a racy pinup pose of V6 with the caption "6 Time Sexier, Faster [huh ?], and All Yours") in a public area.

...and Daz has keeps insisting they're "Family Friendly".

...right, and I have a lovely assortment of bridges here in Portland OR for sale, cheap.

I admit the hot uniforms schoolgirl stuff sold here really kind of make me uncomfortable.

I wasn't surprised to see the back of the skirt blown up to reveal her panties, as that's common with the "hot" products. But I was surprised to see her skirt blown up as well to reveal her panties from the front.

We should all keep our fingers crossed that the Mothers Against Sex Trafficking/Mothers Against Sexual Exploitation/Mothers Against Pedophiles/Mothers Against Sexual Predators At Large/etc., never stumble on the DAZ store.

I do rather like the hair in the promos though. Any ideas what product that is?

I think that's a little extreme. Ever seen women in bikinis? Yes? Then you've seen them in their underwear.

Firstly, the schoolgirl item mentioned is clearly shown on a model representing an adult, and even the Daz Forum TOS say we can post images provided we cover up the bits that would normally be covered by a swimsuit, so the promos for that item are fine in my book.

Secondly, I am actually quite impressed with the render I saw by Agent_Unawares. Shame there was some trouble with the shaders and morphs.

I am also glad that this thread has served as an incentive for a few people to go and buy the item. Just because I needed help understanding it doesn't mean I want the PA to lose out!

I rather like the dress. Yes it defies gravity, but considering I've played dozens of Final Fantasy games where designs were really crazy, I'd say this is pretty tame in comparison. Rikku's 'thief' outfit in Final Fantasy X-2 still makes me uncomfortable to this day...

As for the schoolgirl outfit, I don't really think the promo's are too racy. I've seen worse than that dozens of times over, and it's not as if they used a young girl as the model, so it's clearly not intended to be an 'actual' schoolgirl. Young women in bikini's doesn't seem to phase anyone, so I'm not sure why the promos here would make someone uncomfortable.

Anyway, the Blood Queen outfit has some very nice morph options judging by the promos. I'll definitely have to pick this one up.

    Thanks for posting that image.

I think I will buy it too although it is a pity that the promo image textures don't match what you get 'out of the box'.
