Iray Holograms (Why aint we got some [more]?)
I see a few options.
a) Pull some from assorted products....that have hologram props
b) Use the 'hologram maker' product
c) Post work using brushes
d) Billboard like products with effect panels...
3) Wireframe shader or emissive shaders
- Wondering why someone hasn't KILLED this idea. I see a huge potential if done right and with many options.
For the Promos, do some Star Wars based renders and have one preset be the broken up hologram tech from Empire and you can even put a wizard in the image. lol
Another promo of a city and how you can achieve a Blade Runner-esque atmosphere by loading the city set with holograms.
Third promo is a ship's bridge and the crew using the holograms as an interface.
Fourth could be the isolated blimp or billboard/drive in with the hologram sitting in front of a screen.
--------------------------------------------
The props themselves could be flat planes/billboards and some 3D props, like spheres and cubes and monitor screens, etc.
There could be characters for broken up faces suggesting a person that was talking. male and female, even alien.
Maps of a city or a planetary scan. Random wave signatures.
Geometric shapes like tech brushes with squares and grids.
Lettering could be scrambled, a matrix inspired scroll or alien letters.

Marshian already did. :) These should have come up in a general store search.

3Delight: https://www.daz3d.com/wireframe-and-hologram-shaders
Just apply them to any model or primitive shape you have. The effects are excellent.
Yes, sir! That's one of the options I listed above. I do have that and once made a thread asking about the 3Delight version and WHAMMO there's an iray one.
Used it yesterday.
What I'm rolling around is something more like this one.
