How to get M4 skins fit to Genesis?

I have purchased multiple skins for M4, and while they work wonders on M4 itself, if I try to apply them to Genesis, they don't fit.
This surprised me as I was able to apply all V4 skins to Genesis without a problem.
I own and have installed Victoria 4 and Michael 4 shapes for Genesis, and have also Generation X (I don't think it has an impact).
Is there a way to be able to apply M4 skins on a Genesis-based character?

Indeed there is! Go to the Surfaces tab, select the Genesis figure and change the UV map used to Michael 4.
Yay!!! Many thanks for the speed and accuracy of your help!
Ah... while you are here... any possibility to use V6 skin on V5 or V5 skin on V6?
Looks like applying v5 skin on v6 doesn't cause any problem, but v6 on v5 might not work at all.
As you've no doubt noticed, V5 skins work fine on V6 because the new Genesis 2 figure comes with Victoria 5 UVs by default. However, there are currently no V6 UV's available for Genesis so there is no way of getting the reverse to work at present.
Yes indeed, and it makes sense. Thanks for the clarification
FWIW, the reason the M4 textures didn't work in the first place was that the UV setting on the Genesis figure is done with a parameter in the material file that didn't exist before Genesis. So it has to be done manually in the Surfaces tab after applying the old texture. This will happen with any other old texture for M4, V4 and K4, plus for any other Generation 3 or 4 figure you might have the shapes for.
Just recently upgraded to the 4.6 version. Prior to this I was able to use M4 mats on Gen/M5. Now that I've upgraded to 4.6 Michael 4 is not being listed on the UV set? I use to have 4 or 5 different options here. How can I correct this and get those options back?
Michael 4 should be one of the basic UV sets, installed along with the rest of the Genesis Starter Essentials.
It has been and still is. I bring up m4..by itself. just when I load M5 and go and use a M4 mat on M5, m4 is not listed.
