I would absolutely like to buy the recently offered guys stuff, and I would in heart beat if they included Poser companion files. but they don't, and before anybody says anything about creating them myself in Daz studio 4.6 myself I have done that in the past. and in almost every case something does not convert useablely or as I have shared in another thread doesn't show up when I attempt to load it in a scene.

I want very much to support male content!!! as it is almost exclusively what I use. but I also don't want to waste my money getting something to convert not knowing if it will convert well or even useablely, and then have to go to the hassle of getting my money back.

So, I would like to do everything I can to encourage poser companion files and male content. Other than threads like this, anybody have any ideas how best to do this.

I hear ya, and i understand the frustration. As a Studio user, i come across nice stuff at the other shops all the time with poser-only settings. You can take the gamble and buy it, try to convert yourself, and if you don't succeed, return the goods. Well, i'd rather spend that same money on something that has ds materials created by a professional artist instead of by silly me, and i'd rather spend that time on tinkering with settings to improve my renders instead of settings to make a paid-for product work.

Well, that turned more into a rant of myself than i had planned, but yes, i hear you and i agree :-)

I too understand your frustration. I am a DAZ user and I don't any longer buy anything that is not "wired for DAZ." If content providers want my money, they will provide a product in a format I can use. Life is too short to be frustrated doing something that should be fun.

As a content creator myself, I would like to provide files that make my products easier for anyone to use on their chosen platform, but I do not have Poser installed on my machine, so it makes it difficult to create files for Poser. If I install my copy of Poser 8, I could make some files, but DSON doesn't work with Poser 8 and I can't afford to buy a newer version so I have chosen to limit my items to DAZ content. Maybe once I start making some money at this, I will use some of the profits to buy a newer version of Poser and then will update any products I have to be usable in that platform. It would be nice if other vendors would do the same, it would only help them by increasing their user base.

Oh my God, yes! When I first started doing this stuff (waaaay back in like, April lol) I found all these wonderful sites that offered both free and fee based content. I was in heaven ... or so I thought. After learning about the different apps (mainly DS and Poser) and content, I realized that a significant portion of the treasure trove I discovered was useless to me as a DS user (I'm talking about another site that starts with R and whose products revolve mainly around Poser and V4 stuff). I was somewhat heartbroken actually because a lot of the items offered are beautiful and I could make good use of, but sadly may or may not work in DS. I'm not a fan of being a guinea pig so being the test subject for items marked "not tested in DS" doesn't appeal to me.

I agree with you Tonymouse, actually you put into words almost exactly what I was thinking. When I saw the recently offered guy stuff I wanted to get a bunch of it! But then I saw there were DAZ Studio only. :-( I have converted things from DS to Poser before but it can be a hassle sometimes and not everything converts well. So I don't want to buy since I don't know how good they'll convert/work.

I understand. I would have the same problem. Another option would be to partner with another content creator with the opposite problem. BTW I don't have any ill will towards PAs who make for one or the other, I just can't be bothered to convert anymore. I won't do it for freebies either.
