Save the complete skin of a character and apply to G8

I have a G3 character that comes with a G8 version of it. I made many adjustments to the skin and I want to save the complete skin (head, body, legs, eyes etc.) of the G3 character and apply it to the G8 character.
How do I do that?

    File>Save As>Materials Preset.

    Select the G3 character in the Scene pane and then File/Save As/Material(s) Preset. The saved preset can be applied to a G8 character of the same gender. They use the same UVs.

    Thanks, it worked. I tried to do it with saving shader before.

    A Shader preset saves the settings for one surface, so that they can be applied to any slected surface - it's not tied to a particular model. A Materials preset saves the settings for named surfaces, as many as the model has, and when applied it changes only those surfaces with matching names (though it isn't tied to the specific model it was made from, as long as the Surface names match).

    @barbult

    When applying a Material Preset (skin), how is applied to the character? In this case, the same character but in a different pose?

    When I apply the Material Preset, it adds more items and sub items. Is this correct? I've made another thread here in Daz forums asking how to make Skin and Suit/Clothes Presets.

    A Materials preset should change only material settings, it shouldn't add items. But it can change the shader in use, so the properties available in the Surfaces pane's Editor tab may change.
