Is there a way to weld seams on export of non-objects?

I'm looking into trying out a demo of Lightwave. I remember I tried this back when I used Poser 8 and I tried the demo of Lightwave 9. The issue then was that there was no way to export a figure with seams welded to preserve morphs.
Hoping against all hope, is there a way to do that now? Perhaps a script or something?

Most of them are already 'welded', it is more likely the Lightwave's import function that is splitting them by group.
