Content Directory Manager

At great risk to my sanity, I have at long last managed to install something using the Install Manager.

Unfortunately, DAZ refuses to acknowledge the existence of my newly install data.

The problem seems to lie in the absence of my (as recommended) new Content folder in the Content Directory Manager within the Edit tab.

All my attempts to include this folder, using the Content Directory Manager have failed, as have my attempts to find some documentation on this subject.

Anybody any ideas?

I am not sure what your problem is here. First of all, what you are using to install your content is known as the DIM (DAZ Install Manager) and the place where you tell DS how to find your content is the Content Directory Manager.

The DIM, by default, installs to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library, and you need to make sure that this folder is listed in the Content Directory Manager as BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats.

Are you saying that you cannot add this folder? To add a new folder, click on DAZ Studio Formats, then click on the Directory > Add button, and then do the same for Poser Formats. Add the same path to both, as detailed above(or the path you installed to if different).

    JimmyC, thank you.

Your first para - yes I know but thankyou again!

Your second para - I have changed this to G:\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Content.

Your third para - that is exactly what I am saying but now, thanks to you, this has been Added to both DAZ Studio and Poser Formats.

I can now see the Content from my first DIM installation!

    :)

My pleasure, I am very glad that you worked it out, and can see your content now.

DIM is really very good, and I am glad to use it, it saves so much hassle. Now that you are set up it should work seamlessly.
