studio, failure to fire

I just installed Studio 4.6 to this old comp; gatewayasaures rex. I don't really have room on my main drive so I installed it to my slave drive, but I get this "the procedure entry point?put-lastrecid.............. could not be located in the dynamic link library Vshared-release-x86.dll." error and it fails to start.
I'm not sure if I can fix it, and sure don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.
But I have this sinking feeling since I don't have an X86 folder on XP, this just isn't going to work.

64 bit or 32 bit XP and are you installing the same (32 or 64 bit) of DS46?
32bit to 32bit. The issue is Studio looking for some dll in the X86 folder. There certainly is no X86 folder on a 32bit XP system.
I downloaded and installed DAZStudio_4.6.0.18_Win32.
on my win64 pc,
the dll named Vshared-release-x86.dll is found in the same folder as daz studio 32-bit itself
( C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 )
on your 32-bit PC it should be somewhere like
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4
the DLL for Daz Studio 4.5 is dated 10/9/2012
from a quick search on the internet my guess is that it's a package of database functions ( created by Paradigma Inc.) used by Daz Studio's Content Management Service
the error message you get could indicate that you are using a too-old or too-recent version of this file
if this DLL is not in the same folder as daz studio, then Windows will look for it in places
like c:\windows\system32 and it could be a very old version that was put there by other
programs or even the stock version that comes with Windows .. and likely this version wont be compatible with Daz Studio 4
i saw somewhere that the Daz Studio Content manager needs to run or be installed with Windows administrator privileges, so maybe maybe during the installation something prevented the installation of Vshared-release-x86.dll in the Daz Studio 4 folder
Gets better. I can't uninstall studio the uninstaller errors out. I can't run the studio installer, it errors out. But I can certainly delete every little bit of it and not worry with it again.
I fixed this by prepping folders. The issue was just installing to my D drive. I had to set up a DAZ studio/ My library folder, and a DAZ 3D/DAZstudio4 folder and all is fine on the reinstall. Of coarse then I had to reset my carrara browser; which I am having an odd issue with, but maybe this will fix it.
Problem I am having now with studio is lacking in working space. I've reset the interface but the side panels still take up 2/3 of the screen.
