Genesis2 and autofit

I have a question.... How do I reduce the collision distance of the stupid autofit tool. The clothes are always seeming to be pushed away from the skin a few inches, like an invisible barrier is there. How do I fix this and make the clothes actually touch her skin like clothes should?

Autofit only works with Genesis clothing on Genesis 2 as far as I am aware?
What clothing are you having problems with?
All clothes, to a certain extent, but it's dresses and skirts that seem to have the worst of it. It seems to maintain like 4 inches between the leg and the material. Maybe it's not the autofit tool, but the autofollow tool? Whatever tool is used to make the clothes follow poses, but I assume that it is following some parameter set by the autofit tool.
For my part I've not noticed any large gaps between the figure and the cloth. In fact, usually it's the opposite I have problems with, outfits which stick to the figure like cling film. I'm afraid you'll have to offer some examples. Images might help as well, since they can speak a thousand words as they say.
Skirts tend to be an issue with most autofit clones. The only one I've seen to date which seems to work for those is the set included with the V4 morphs for Genesis 2. For everything else there tends to be stretching and other issues. Footwear is another problem area for most autofits.
When you convert clothing via the autofit be sure you're selecting the correct source figure, as using the wrong clone shape can cause a lot of distortions.
In the poser cloth room, I can change the collision distance between the figure and cloth. I was hoping there was some hidden setting that I didn't know about to do the same.
Poser's cloth room is for dynamic cloth though, not conforming cloth (though it can convert one into the other).
I see what you mean about the 'gap' but that's intentional so that the skirt moves with the leg. Often times there are morphs which can help with getting a better look. The Daydream dress you gave as an example certainly does (and remains one of my most used dresses for Genesis).
