Or, at least, was very, very nice to listen to.

For me it was "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" soundtrack, especially 'Icarus' theme.

I've always enjoyed a wide variety of music, but leaned mostly to rock, pop and co (Black Sabbath, The Doors, Faith No More, ...) The past few years i've been listening more and more to electronic/hiphop/dubstep or whatever they call it : ) Don't really care much for genres, i just like a song when i like it.

My latest discovery is 'Die Antwoord', according to wikipedia it's a South African rap-rave band.
And when i'm working i love these two playlist on 8tracks.com : A Dose of Dub-Hop and Bass Busters

The last album I bought recently was VS Head VS Heart from Emma Louise. I listen to her song Atlas Eyes pretty much everyday, though the entire album is fantastic in my opinion.

I love the Harp Twins. Along similar lines I discovered Lindsey Stirling a couple of months ago because of her cover of the Assassins Creed III theme - amazing video to go with it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOg8Cz9yfWg&feature=share&list=PL7901C8C232406C99

Her videos for the Lord of the Rings covers are also amazing.

I listen to everything from 80s buttrock to goth/industrial and everything in between and beyond, even stuff earlier than 80s. I've only recently found a love of a genre dubbed as "Electro-Medieval" when I heard a band called Helium Vola. I love their song Omnis Mundi Creatura.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtJDfO7fsEU

Along the same lines, I like E.S. Posthumus also. Pompeii is my favorite song by them.

If I had to say my favorite of all time, White Zombie, even post WZ when he went on his own as Rob Zombie, although I miss the sound from White Zombie. I do like Scum of the Earth also, which was comprised of previous band members of both White Zombie and Rob Zombie (I think Riggs it the only previous Zombie band member left in Scum though).

Oh, I know her! Not personally, I mean, but her 'Elements' was one of my favorite songs a while back. Also - wonderful Skyrim theme.

Another great game music is Miracle of Sound, especially his latter songs "The day the world died", "Dream of the Sky", "Sweet L.A." and "Breaking down the borders". Some of them, especially earlier ones, are hit-and-miss, at my taste, but some also had touched souls of people who are _very_ far from video gaming.

I'm also thanking all other people who shared links - I will listen to all of those! And please, keep sharing, - I wish to listen to more nice music :)

For anyone into Game of Thrones, Miracle of Sound has a great song about Tyrion "The Halfman's Song".

The group I'm in love with lately is Pink Martini. Their music is in various laguages, but it's all great. Some of the music is familiar older things updated, and much is original too.

Lindsey Stirling's game music is excellent... but she shines when she gets to cut loose and preform her own music:

Oh, yes - she has an album out now. I understand you can get it on iTunes, but I prefer CDs when I can get them.

Do you like surf-rock? Do you like soundtracks? Do you wish there were more surf-rock soundtracks?

Your wish is granted, courtesy of The Reverb Syndicate!

They've given us three (so far) soundtracks to movies that never existed except in the imaginations of the Syndicate. And with song titles such as "I Am The New Number Two" and "Zis Is KAOS!" in Operation: Jet Set!, "The Martini Cluster" and "Theremania!" in Sputnik A-Go-Go, and "A Plethora Of Piñatas" and "The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Gunfighters" in Mondo Cacti, you know they're having fun with their music.

My playlist from a genre they've labeled, Epic. Many are compilations from movies and/or games. Number 13, "Best Of Epic Music III - Two Steps From Hell (ft. 300)" has lots of violent imagery from the movie "300". The music held me enthralled, though. I'll have to listen to the songs listed by others here.

You might want to check out the album 'Sabbatum', by Rondellus. It's Black Sabbath covers, sung in Latin in a Medieval style.

I forgot to mention this was all done on a kickstarter. They want you to download all their amazing music for free.

    Okay, my latest two 'discoveries'.

    1. Within Temptation, a Dutch group whose earlier work is classified as Gothic Metal, but more lately they fall into the symphonic rock, I prefer Unforgiven as an album try the tracks Iron & Faster, you can check them out here:- http://www.youtube.com/artist/within-temptation

    2. Volbeat, a Danish metal band who draw on a range of influences who you can check out here Lola Montez & Lonesome Rider are a couple outstanding tracks for me from their new Album Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, check them out here:- http://www.youtube.com/artist/volbeat

I don't think I an say that his voice makes me drool but I'm loving the album, I'll pick up some of their back catalogue when finances allow.

Also you might want to check out this if you haven't heard it, the acapella version of New Divide by Linkin Park here:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gbt5daKKyI

I'm not a huge fan of Linkin Park but that track is something else.

By the way, might I recommend Thomas Dolby's new album "A Map Of The Floating City", and in particular a little track called Toadlickers which features the accordion talents of a certain... ghastly... individual. :cheese:

I love "epic" (although I prefer to call it "bombastic")! I guess I got into it in a serious way via RPG music. I didn't have time to listen through everything on your list so I don't know if you have one of my favourites, the theme from the Japanese RPG "The Last Remnant". Symphony orchestra, synthesist and a 15 piece choir. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yhOYokax0M

The theme from the Polish RPG Witcher 2 is also great (maybe even better). Assassins of Kings:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhSBSjbwEZs

And now some epic Japanese pop. It's the theme from last season's (spring 2013) new anime Shingeki no Kyojin (Advance of the Giants or Attack On Titan) Not sure I've ever heard anything quite like this—it's really over the top:
