Newbie posing question.....

Example:
I have an actor (Michael 4), posed in Random Pose A.
I have a saved pose in a neutral body position, with the left hand as a fist, called LH_Fist
Is there a way to merge the LH_Fist with Pose A, with only the left hand information, and no other body parts affected?
i.e. - no matter what pose my actors are currently in, Can I selectively apply/merge a hand/foot/arm/head, etc. pose, without affecting the remainder of the original pose?
If so - how?
Thanks in advance.

You have to save your fist pose as a pose preset (File > Save As > Pose Preset), ticking only the Left Hand check box in the Pose Preset Save Options dialog box.
Make a note of where you have saved it to, and then you can apply it to any other pose.
Tthanks for the quick response!
I tried your suggestion, but when I try to apply it it doesnt seem to stick - sometimes I get a brief flash of a single frame with the fist pose (whole body, not just left hand) and then it reverts to the previous pose as if nothing was done.
Other times, it will say error loading file, please view the log.
Do I need to select the same node before applying the pose? If so - there is a difference between the pose preset dialog, and the content selector.
In the pose preset, in order to find the left hand, I navigate down to:
Michael 4 > Morphs > Imported > lHand
In the content selector, it appears differently as:
Michael 4 > hip > abdomen > lForeArm > lHand -- and the subnodes under lHand are not the same as they are in the pose preset.
any thoughts?
(I am a total Newb...)
If the pose or partial pose you want to apply is in a native DAZ Studio format then you just need to select in the scene tab the parts of the body you want to affect and hold theCtrl key when you double click the pose preset and you will get an options dialog for applying the pose.
If the pose preset is an HR2 file then DAZ Studio will recognize it as a hand pose file and give you the option to apply it to the left or right hand.
If its in PZ2 format, you cannot easily combine them. You would be best to apply the hand pose to another figure and then save that hand pose out as a DUF file in DS and then just apply it to M4
Got it working now - apparently the error about failling to load the file should really say "Please select something in the scene first, dumdum".
I saved another preset and was able to navigate to the matching node by going through a different tree. (there are duplicates in the Michael 4 tree, and morphs, and other stuff, it seems like...).
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!.
