about the download links....sometimes they are exe files and then sometimes they are zip files....i have trouble with them stalling and not finishing with the download.....and when they are zip files..they have to be redone because they have a content folder to start off with instead of runtime being first....never had this problem with the old system....I use Poser 6 and am unable to use the install manager.
thanks for any help

Eventually they will all be zips http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/20834_4/
What I do is download the zip, unzip it to a temp folder, and then drag and drop the Runtime folder from inside the content folder to whichever of my runtimes I want it to go in. Renember to drag it to the folder that holds the runtime in it, not the runtime folder itself
from time to time I clear out the rest of the stuff from the temp folder, but usually I just let it replace the manifest and stuff each time.
Even Poser 6 users can use Install Manager. You just need to configure Install Manager to install to your Poser 6 library. Here are instructions: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/userguide/configure_install_manager/tutorials/settings_for_install_manager/start
Why not put the zips in the proper format....unless this is not for Poser? I do know how to fix them..just a pain....and trying to update my installer...(which has never worked correctly for me) will not update??? Getting very frustrated with DAZ...
If you don't want to use DIM to install then you can use the system I described.
I don't know about you but I have always unzipped to a temp folder anyway, when content has come in zips, because I want to make sure that the stuff goes where I want it to go, and also some zips do on occasion have bad pathing issues. Heck I know I have sometimes made some slip ups when making the zips for my stuff, it is very easy to do.
DAZ 3D zips are thoroughly checked so pathing will not be an issue.
Using the DAZ 3D zips the way I have described above is still very much quicker than using an installer, and allows me to put things just where I want them in my customised runtimes.
You can use the DIM as a download manage without doing an auto install. It is best not to auto install DIM zips if you are using P6. P6 still requires the strict runtime folder set up.
Since you are a P6 user, it might be easier to just manually download the Poser files and skip the DS files where possible. If it's all in one zip, unzip to a temp folder. Locate the runtime folder. Open it up and check to make sure all the files are present. If everything is in order, drag/drop, copy/paste the runtime folder to the permanent runtime folder. You can either delete the temp folder or edit to remove the files you don't need. If you edit the temp folder, you can then rename it and repack it.
With most content (save the newest possibly), you can DL the exe from your Order Confirmation email.
